GIANT launches new generation compact loaders
GIANT is thrilled to unveil its latest innovation in compact wheel loaders—the G2400, G2400HD, G2550HD and G2550HD+. Built from the ground up, these new generation loaders are designed to address the evolving needs of the construction, agriculture, and landscaping industries. The G2400 and G2550 series are set to revolutionize productivity with their exceptional performance, ergonomics, and versatility.
The new G2400, G2400HD, G2550HD and G2550HD+ represent more than a new generation compact wheel loaders – it’s a true tool carrier, featuring advanced hydraulic functionality and precise control for handling a variety of (hydraulically driven) attachments, all incorporated into a machine with very compact dimensions. By using hydraulic wheel motors instead of traditional axles, it enables key components like the engine to be positioned lower in the frame. In combination with a long wheelbase, a low centre of gravity is the final result, optimizing tipping load and safety when handling loads. Despite its compact dimensions, the loader offers high performance with the G2550HD and G2550HD+ peaking at 50 hp, making it an ideal choice for demanding tasks in challenging applications and tight spaces.
High-Performance Engines
Both models feature a 3 cylinder Kubota engine. The G2400 and G2400HD is powered by a 26 hp D1105K engine, while the G2550HD and G2550HD+ is equipped with a 50 hp Kubota D1803 CR engine. Both engines are electronically controlled and STAGE V compliant, ensuring optimal fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. The G2400 and G2400HD is equipped with a non-DOC-DPF engine, however, an optional after-treatment system is available to meet local regulations. The G2550HD and G2550HD+ features a regenerative DOC DPF system, enhancing both fuel efficiency and performance, particularly in demanding applications.
The engine in the G2550HD and G2550HD+ is a common rail engine balancing fuel efficiency with maximum performance. The engine features an hydraulic driven cooling fan, enabling to automatically adjust the fan speed according to the local working conditions. This allows the engine to rapidly reach and maintain the working temperature, enhancing fuel efficiency and emissions. In cold conditions it provides more driver comfort as the heater warms up faster while the engine is at idle. Optionally the fan direction can be reversed as well for cleaning out debris from the radiator.
Advanced Driveline Options
Each model is equipped with four hydraulic wheel motors, featuring varying displacement tailored to the specific performance needs of each model. All models with exception of the G2400 (one speed range, up to 12 km/h) feature a two-speed range. The G2400 features delivers a traction force of 13 kN and reaches a maximum speed of 12 km/h. The G2400HD version delivers 18 kN with a two-speed range (up to 12 km/h in low range and 20 km/h in high range). The G2550HD features 18 kN traction force (up to 12 km/h in low range and 25 km/h in high range), and the G2550HD+ model boosts an impressive traction force of 24.5 kN with a maximum speed of 28 km/h on standard tyres. The various driveline configurations enable these loaders to choose the specification level that aligns with various customer needs and budgets.
Hydraulic Capacity and Functionality
The G2400, G2400HD and G2550HD will be equipped as standard with a single pump delivering 40l/min up to 210 bar, with optional upgrades including a Power Flow option offering 50l/min up to 210 bar. Secondly, the G2400 and G2400HD will be available with a Single Flow option that provides 40l/min up to 210 bar, with an additional pump delivering a 33l/min up to 150 bar. Besides the option of Power Flow, for the G2550HD single flow is providing 50l/min with an additional pump boosting 60 l/min at 150 bar.
Differential and enhanced Safety Features
For improved traction in challenging conditions, all models come equipped with a longitudinal differential lock as standard and an optional lateral differential lock. Each model features an electronically activated Spring Applied Hydraulic Release (SAHR) braking system that applies the brakes at all times, except when the drive pedal is pressed. This system ensures the loader remains stationary on inclines and automatically applies the brake in the emergency of a hydraulic failure or power loss, enhancing safety on the job site.
Ergonomics and Comfort
The new loaders are designed with operator comfort in mind, featuring a suspended driver seat equipped with an integrated armrest console that enhances the overall driving experience. The armrest controls are ergonomically positioned, putting everything at the operator's fingertips. This arrangement reduces strain on the operator's arms and shoulders, resulting in less fatigue and optimal productivity throughout the workday.
The flat floor design allows for easy entry and exit, and facilitates effortless cleaning. A adjustable steering column in two directions adds to the user-friendly design, while the intuitive user display keeps the operator informed at all time.
One can choose between a standard ROPS/FOPS safety roof, a convenient folding roof, or a luxury cabin. The new cabin will offer enhanced comfort, visibility and ergonomics. A heater is equipped as standard, whereas air-conditioning will be optional, ensuring a comfortable working environment in all weather conditions.
Hitches
All models are compatible with a variety of attachments thanks to the hydraulically locked quick hitch system, allowing operators to easily switch between tools from the operator's seat. In addition to the standard GIANT quick hitches, universal and competitive brand hitches are also available.
Boom configurations
Customers can choose from three boom configurations that are already familiar for GIANT users: standard, X-TRA, and TELE. The wheel loader versions feature a standard or X-TRA boom. The standard boom delivers a higher reach up to 2.869 mm, whilst the X-TRA boom enhances tipping loads up to 2.140 kg for the G2400 and G2400HD and 2.460 kg for the G2550HD and G2550HD+, with a slightly lower reach. The TELE variant with its telescopic boom is an excellent choice where an even higher reach is required. Boom suspension will be optional on all models. The patented STABILO system that will be optionally available, optimizes machine stability on uneven terrain, enhancing operational safety and efficiency.
Improved Serviceability
Recognizing the importance of maintenance, the design of the G2400, G2400HD, G2550HD and G2550HD+ prioritizes serviceability. The rear engine cover is effortlessly folded away towards the cabin, allowing for easy access during daily maintenance and inspections.
Lighting and Connectivity
To enhance visibility, both models are equipped with halogen lights or up to six LED working lights, strategically positioned on the boom, operator station front, and rear of the operator station. Additional options include traffic lights, flash lights, and rotating beacons, all available in LED. Both models feature 3 and 14 pin connectors as optional additions.
Conclusion
The launch of the G2400, G2400HD, G2550HD and G2550HD+ compact loaders marks a significant milestone for GIANT, setting new standards in productivity, comfort, and versatility. These machines are engineered to tackle a wide range of applications, making them the ideal choice for professionals in construction, agriculture, landscaping, and other applications. Production of the new models will commence late 2025, exact dates will be announced in due time.
