Looking back at bauma 2022

Bauma a great succes for TOBROCO-GIANT
During the 34th edition of bauma, TOBROCO-GIANT, the specialist in compact machines, recorded the first order for the Philippines. The Asian customer was looking for machines that could be used urgently after severe weather. For clearing up roads and paths of trees and obstacles. And clearing grounds. The choice fort he Skid SK252D, the G2500 X-TRA and the G5000 was quickly made.

This order was like icing on the cake. The stand of the leading manufacturer with a portfolio of 36 different models in 62 countries was well attended. During the fair, the wide, compact range that also includes the 24 compaction machines was shown to the general public. Customers from all over the world showed great interest in the 100% electric wheel loaders. This has everything to do with the strict requirements of clients to build emission-free and with less nuisance to the environment. The versatility of a GIANT with access to more than 500 attachments and the easy transport of a wheel loader on a trailer also plays a major role in making the choice of the clients. The TELEhandler GT5048 was popular for its compactness. Wit hits dimensions of 1.9 meters high and 1.6 meters wide, the low model easily enters a building.

BAUMA 2022: TOBROCO-GIANT GROWS INTO A FULL-LINER

New (electric) models and a complete line of compaction machines.

TOBROCO-GIANT's ambitions extend beyond being among the largest manufacturers of wheel loaders. The brand from the Netherlands wants to grow into a full-liner in compact and durable equipment. On one hand, this is done by expanding the portfolio across the board with the introduction of new and electric models. On the other, the acquisition of ULBO Machinery has resulted in a complete line of compaction machines being added to the range.

At booth 209 in hall C6, TOBROCO-GIANT will present a large number of new models and several familiar models. A series of eight vibratory plates, rammers and roller vibrators will be shown to the international public for the first time. There are also seven other GIANT models on the 182 m2 stand. This concerns a skid steer loader, various wheel loaders, a telescopic wheel loader and telehandler. Each of these machines will be equipped with an attachment that is suitable for construction, demolition and municipal work.

Electrical success expands
At the previous edition of bauma, TOBROCO-GIANT introduced the first two electric wheel loaders. The G2200E and G2200E X-TRA entered production at the end of 2019 and have proven to be a success. Due to the increasing demand for electrical machines and their wide deployability almost more than 1,000 wheel loaders in the 2.2 ton class have been produced.

During the next years, the range of electrically driven models will be expanded drastically so that in the future an electric variant will be available for every model. The G2700E and G2700E X-TRA are the first machines available. With an operating weight of 2,595 kg, both machines operate in a class above the G2200E (X-TRA) and are capable of handling heavier work. A tipping load of 2,300 kg for the G2700E X-TRA ensures that lifting and transporting complete pallets of bricks or tiles is no problem at all.

GIANT skid steer on tracks
In recent years the fame of the GIANT skid steer loaders has grown in many industries and sectors as the machines are widely appreciated for their versatility and manoeuvrability. This usability is further increased by the option of equipping the machines with rubber tracks. This ensures that the skid steers can better deal with unevenness and offer more stability. At the same time these rubber tracks provide a significantly higher tipping load of 780 kg compared to 434 kg for the skid steer loaders on wheels.

Because the dimensions are limited to a width of 100 cm and a length of 158 cm, the machines remain compact, manoeuvrable and easy to transport. Various prototypes have been built in the meantime and are being thoroughly tested by selected customers. Using their feedback the machine will be optimized and then go into series production in 2023.

Complete line of 24 compaction machines
With the acquisition of ULBO Machinery, TOBROCO-GIANT has added a complete line of compaction machines to the range. The range consists of 24 models which excel in quality, productivity and durability by using high-quality components. Customers can choose from  a petrol, diesel or electric motor from Honda, Hatz or Yanmar. GIANT supplies four rammers with a weight of 58 to 80 kg. The vibratory plates are divided into eleven leading types (51-180 kg), eight link plates (two-way, 180-485 kg) and a roller vibrator. They deliver a maximum impact force of 67 kN and have a base plate of 30 to 85 cm width.

Substantial investments are also being made in electrification for the compaction machines. The partnership with Honda has made TOBROCO-GIANT the first manufacturer to receive approval to take the electric vibratory plate into production. During bauma, the first electric vibratory rammers and various new electric vibratory plates make their debut. By expanding and electrifying the complete product range, TOBROCO-GIANT aims to grow to an annual production of 10,000 machines.

Machines from 750 to 6,000 kg
The width of the portfolio of GIANT machines is clearly reflected in the machines that can be found on our stand. In addition to the new models, there are three articulated loaders in the weight class of 1,500 kg (G1500 X-TRA HD), 2,200 kg (G2200E X-TRA) and 5,000 kg (G5000 X-TRA). There is also room for the GT5048 telescopic handler. This modern machine in the 2x2 meter class offers a lifting height of 4.8 meters and has been a success for years because of its stability and manoeuvrability.

bauma 2022: Don't miss out on any of the innovations
This edition of the largest construction fair in the world promises to be a spectacular edition with a large number of new GIANT machines. Visit booth 209 in hall 6 and get informed about TOBROCO-GIANT's future plans when it comes to models, production and the new Experience Center!

TOBROCO-GIANT extends electrical range

From now on the more powerful machines of the G2700 series by TOBROCO-GIANT offer also electrically driven types: The models of this series are able to transport complete pallets of bricks and are more than useful to fulfil heavy tasks with attachments which need a huge amount of hydraulic oil for work.

Within recent years the longing for a more environmentally friendly way of work received more and more influence on decisions concerning investments made in the branches of construction, demolition, agriculture and gardening. Also, the possibility to work with electrically driven machines under the total absence of emissions with less disturbance for the vicinity grew more and more important. At the same time there is now the war in the Ukraine which leads to the fact that fuels are becoming a constantly growing cost factor.

With the expansion of the E-range of its compact wheel loaders TOBROCO-GIANT made the next step towards the goal of offering an E-model of each series in the future. Customers will always have the choice of opting for an electrically driven machine according to their operating needs and daily tasks. Since 2019, TOBROCO-GIANT has built almost 1.000 loaders with electric drive and is surely up to the newest knowledge about lithium-ion batteries and battery management systems.

Persistent and powerful
Because of a higher service weight of almost 2.600 kg and their pulling force of 12.500N the now electrified models G2700E and G2700E X-TRA are able to execute more heavy tasks than smaller models. Lifting and transporting of a whole pallet of bricks or tiles is no problem at all. Furthermore, the G2700E offers a maximum tipping load of 3,230 kg and for the X-TRA-Version it is a maximum of 3,435 kg. The machines also impress with a lifting height of 2.96 m for the G2700E and 2.5 m for the G2700E X-TRA.

With those machines longer and harder tasks can be fulfilled, as the use of attachments like mowers, sweepers and flail mowers which require a large amount of hydraulic oil. For this purpose, it is optionally possible to equip the loader with a hydraulic oil cooler to counter possible thermal challenges. The oil cooler ensures that hydraulic power can be used for longer.

Technically advanced
The loaders are equipped with an 48V LPT-battery. That means it is a lithium-iron-phosphate-battery which offers a lot of advantages like an extended life time, maintenance free, more safety and an improved discharging and charging efficiency. The battery can be charged via the onboard charger within five hours. Also, the wheel loader can be charged like any electric car at a car loading station. It is possible too to use an external high frequency charger with 48V/150A or 48 V/300 A, with which the machine can quickly be recharged, e.g. during the lunch time break. This can make sense, if the machine is used the whole day with heavy duty tasks without many interruptions. The G2700 E and the G2700 E X-TRA are driven by a powerful 7kW electric engine. A hydrostatic 4-wheel drive with automotive steering and 6-ton-axles with limited slip on the front axle prevents the machine from losing touch to the ground and always provides sufficient pulling force for smooth movement.

The machines of the G2700E series can be driven with three different speeds for a precise and controlled way of work, they also provide the tow mode, in which the machine can roll freely. Also, there is automatic recuperation every time the brake is used. The hill-hold-function also proves very useful, it prevents the machine from rolling back when started on slope. The wheel loaders provide very large and comfortable cabins, but still have compact measures and a small enough weight to be transported easily on a trailer. The working hydraulics is driven by a 12 kW electrically driven engine, which makes 35l/min of oil with a pressure of 170 bar for the attachments available.

Dutch Ministry of Defence convinced by TOBROCO-GIANT: Special forces receive two new GIANT wheel loaders

The ministry of Defence of the Netherlands just bought another two GIANT wheel loaders along with several attachments and partly customized options. The machines will not only be used for all different tasks on military sites, but also for education and tactical training.

The Korps Commandotroepen (KCT) is a special unit of the Royal Dutch Army which is responsible for preparing and executing special operations in the context of allied defence and crisis management tasks. The KCT is ready for operational deployment 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, anywhere in the world.

After the delivery of a GIANT G2200 X-TRA HD+ to the Education and Training Center in Rucphen in May, the Dutch special forces recently opted again for two GIANT wheel loaders, a GIANT G3500 X-TRA and a GIANT G2700 X-TRA HD+. The G3500 X-TRA is used for launching and unloading vessels into the water and for maintenance tasks at a tactical training center for water operations in Raamsdonksveer.

Another unit of Defence, the Education and Training Center for logistics, was looking for a similar type of machine, but for a different reason. The unit was looking for a wheel loader with as many CAN bus connections as possible to fit the new training which has just been developed. This training is about teaching personnel in the field of CAN bus and hydraulic systems. By choosing the GIANT G2700 X-TRA HD+, Defence’s knowledge of electronics grows along with developments in the market. Like that, just one party, TOBROCO-GIANT, offers the solution for multiple issues at Defence.

Versatility and customization make difference
The Korps Commandotroepen initially had the idea to look for a tractor for launching and removing vessels from the water. However, after they experienced various limitations the question about the possibilities was placed with TOBROCO-GIANT, because the G2200 X-TRA HD+ has already proven itself when it comes to deploy ability and reliability.

During a demonstration at the training centre the responsible of the unit realised how the machine would be used to meet their needs. TOBROCO-GIANT has developed a special, tailor-made, towbar adapter for launching and removing various vessels from the water. This is suitable for both a K50 and NATO coupling, has a hydraulically operated safety device and is adjustable to the left and right. The G3500 X-TRA was delivered with various attachments to be able to carry out a large number of activities. In addition to a towbar adapter, a grading bucket with side plates, a pallet fork and a sweeper were also supplied. Like that, the G3500 X-TRA can also be used for the maintenance of the grounds around the Training Centre.

With the X-TRA model of the G3500 series, KCT has opted for a machine with a high tipping load (4,100 kg) compared to its own weight (3,700 kg). The hydrostatic 4-wheel drive with automotive steering and 100% switchable lock on both 14-ton-axles prevents the machine from losing traction and always provides sufficient pulling force for smooth movement. The machine is well equipped as a standard with e.g. an air suspension seat, anti-theft protection and floating position on the lifting cylinder. But in order to be able to use the wheel loader optimally throughout the year, a spacious full-option cabin, LED traffic lighting, extra LED work lights and road specifications for the Netherlands have been chosen. For the transport of trailers the G3500 X-TRA is equipped with a combination towbar and a 13-pin plug.

Comprehensive information available
The unit of the education and training centre for logistics set different requirements, not just regarding the machine. The choice for the G2700 X-TRA HD+ has not only been made because the machine is compact and the most powerful loader in this series. It is also important for the training of the unit that the technical documentation is in good order, the software is easy to read and detailed parts books are available. In addition, TOBROCO-GIANT offers technical, electrical and hydraulic diagrams. All this information is available online for customers with an account.

GIANT boosts modernization of construction equipment fleet
As mentioned before, the G2200 X-TRA HD+ is the first TOBROCO-GIANT machine purchased by the Defence command troops unit. To be able to perform the special operations properly, it is important that professional training based on good facilities can be provided. The same applies to the equipment used on the base. TOBROCO-GIANT soon came into the picture at Defence, because it is a Dutch company with a Dutch product of very good quality: The machine is equipped with A-components, such as a Kubota engine and parts from Bosch. In addition, TOBROCO-GIANT offers nationwide service coverage. The G2200 X-TRA HD+ is used by the special forces for the maintenance of the KCT camp in Rucphen, which is why it was decided to equip the machine with an earth bucket, heavy duty bucket and a hydraulically adjustable pallet fork.

With more than 200 different attachments in its program and the option of customization, TOBROCO-GIANT offers a solution for every situation. With the arrival of the G2200 X-TRA HD+ at Defence, an important step has been taken in the modernization of the construction equipment fleet.

TOBROCO-GIANT introduces complete range of 24 compaction machines

TOBROCO-GIANT's ambitions extend beyond being among the largest manufacturers of wheel loaders. The manufacturer from Oisterwijk wants to grow into a full-liner in compact equipment. The acquisition of ULBO Machinery has resulted in a complete range of compaction machines being added to the range.

High-quality vibratory plates and rammers are built in Zwolle under the SAMAC brand name. The stampers enjoy great international fame, after all, they are sold by leading brands under their own label. This is not surprising, because there are only a few manufacturers worldwide. In the field of vibratory plates, the competition is much greater. Completely against the sales trend, SAMAC therefore produces four times as many rammers as vibratory plates from the belt. In total, this concerns more than 2,500 units per year. Under the wings of TOBROCO-GIANT – which has a network of 750 dealers in more than sixty countries – Ulbo Machinery wants to grow to 10,000 machines.

Managing director and owner Toine Brock of TOBROCO-GIANT speaks of the perfect expansion of the portfolio, which will enable the company to tap into new segments. “Vibration plates and rammers fit perfectly with our current GIANT models. Whether it concerns earthmoving or rental companies, road workers or landscapers, they are familiar with both brands and now have a single point of contact for purchase, service and maintenance. Our goal is to offer a comprehensive solution in the future, so that customers come to our company for all their compact machines. Made in Holland, just like with our wheel loaders. GIANT is even the only Dutch producer of vibratory plates and rammers. We are very proud of that.”

Own corporate identity and logo
The first units have been painted in the yellow and gray house style and have their own logo,  in which the wheel loader has been replaced by a compaction machine. The range consists of 24 models, which excel in quality, productivity and durability by using high-quality components. You can choose from a petrol, diesel or electric motor from Honda, Hatz or Yanmar. GIANT supplies four rammers with a weight of 58 to 80 kg. The vibratory plates are divided into eleven single direction types (51-180 kg), eight reversible plates (two-way, 180-485 kg) and a roller vibrator. They deliver a maximum impact force of 67 kN and have a base plate of 30 to 85 cm wide. Compact design, BIG in performance!

The fact that TOBROCO-GIANT was the first European manufacturer to receive permission from Honda Engines for the production of the electric vibratory plate also proves that the company is taking a great role in the technological development of compaction equipment. The 103 kg GP1950E is equipped with a Honda GXE2.0H electric motor and a 72 volt battery, which can be charged to 80% within an hour. “This one lasts ten minutes longer, which is almost doubling compared to the competition,” says Jan Alwin Ulderink on behalf of the location in Zwolle. “The introduction of this E-model marks the start of a complete electric series, which will soon include the E rammer GR740E and E-reversible plate GPR5575E.”

Added value
GIANT compaction machines distinguish themselves in the market not only because of the longer battery life, but of course benefit from typical 'SAMAC' features such as rock-solid and very fast-running compactors. As a global player, the company is also used for carrying out specific modifications for other countries, which is also of added value for GIANT dealers. As much as possible is manufactured in-house in Zwolle in order to be able to maintain a good overview of quality and final inspection. Thanks to largely computer-controlled production, the further development of machines and the building of prototypes are also fully integrated into the daily production process.

While TOBROCO-GIANT celebrated its 25th anniversary this year, Ulbo Machinery can boast 45 years of experience! The company was founded in 1976 by Jan Alwin's father Herman, who previously worked as a service technician for vibratory plates and rammers and later started supplying new machines for himself under the name SAMAC. Ulderink Sr. spent the evenings building a rammer in the garage himself, with the aim of eliminating all the imperfections he had encountered with other brands. This principle of gradual improvement is still being implemented today, when workshop chief, operational manager Mark Beens and Jan Alwin constantly discuss technical matters or possibilities.

"Separate branch of sport
A rammer or vibratory plate seems like a simple tool, but there's a surprising amount of development hidden underneath. “In the past, a vibratory plate or rammer had to achieve the desired compaction, but more and more aspects have been added to this: design, working conditions guidelines and regulations regarding emissions or noise”, says Jan Alwin, who describes the work on the product as a 'special branch of sport'. “We put so much effort into working with low vibration, while the machine is intended for compaction by means of vibration. That keeps it challenging. Development is in our blood, so there is a good match with TOBROCO-GIANT in that regard. As part of this ambitious organization, we can further scale up in terms of numbers and unmanned production, in order to start the next growth spurt.”

K.I. SAMEN acts future-oriented with the help of a GIANT G3500

The family business K.I. SAMEN, located in Grashoek, the Netherlands, has replaced its old served and reliable GIANT V6004T with a new G3500. The G3500 offers proven quality, versatility and agility combined with newest technical standards and environmental friendliness. It is able to handle all tasks that occur on the dairy farm with the available attachments - and fits well into the quality conscious company.

Europe's first privately owned Artificial Insemination Station was established in 1982 and is headquartered in Grashoek, the Netherlands. K.I. SAMEN is a family business run by Ralph, Bas and Nancy Engelen and is worldwide active in the sale of bull semen. The focus is on practical breeding, which means that they want to improve breeding by looking at the cow first and especially by paying attention to the practical conditions on dairy farms.

Both K.I. SAMEN as TOBROCO-GIANT aim for quality in which the customer plays a central role. This is underlined by the choice of a GIANT G3500 as the successor to the GIANT V6004T, which has already worked 13,000 hours without any problems since 2012. Ralph Engelen: “The GIANT G3500 is easy to use, can be controlled by anyone and is a machine that is literally used for everything because of all the attachments. We assume that we can also work 13,000 hours with this GIANT without any problems!”

Worldwide export
K.I. SAMEN is active worldwide in the sale of bull semen. Where it started with 5 bulls, the company has now grown to more than 30 Holstein bulls. Striking at K.I. SAMEN is that their market share is increasing by more than 7% annually in a shrinking market. The company not only has a very strong position in Eastern Europe, but also exports to the United States and Taiwan.

The secret of this success is that they always keep their promise and are practically involved with the farmer. This means that the breeding specialists always first listen carefully to what the farmer wants with his cows. Each cow is individually examined and evaluated so that the most suitable bull is selected for each cow.

Grashoek breeding and dairy farm since 1778
In addition to K.I. SAMEN, the Engelen family is also the proud owner of the practice farm: Breeding and Dairy Farm Grashoek. The history of this company goes back seven generations to 1778, when Paulus Engelen settled in Grashoek. The company is now owner of several locations, spread throughout the Netherlands.

Bas: “We breed the practical cow for tomorrow! Which means; a balanced cow that is in good proportion and can make a long life with an optimal and good healthy production”. In the showroom of Breeding and Dairy Farm Grashoek, the young bulls are tested in order to later see in practice how they perform from each other. But also to compare the bulls. “In recent years, we have been approximately 40% higher in life production than the Dutch average. And the cows are on average more than one year older.” Tells Ralph proudly and with passion.

GIANT G3500: stage V and long lifespan
Breeding and dairy farm Grashoek is a fine example of a dairy farm that shows how traditional values and modern insights go hand in hand. With a growing and active team for the better cow next to them, Ralph, Bas and Nancy consciously invest in resources aimed at a healthy future for humans and animals. The 12,000 solar panels that have recently been installed are the silent witnesses that show how future-oriented and enterprising the Engelen family is.

The choice for the GIANT G3500 with stage V diesel engine is therefore a logical step and fits within the company's vision to make environmentally friendly choices. Bas explains why the company is so loyal to GIANT machines: “We have been working with a GIANT V6004T since 2012 and it has worked for 13,000 hours without any problems. We realize that this is an awful lot. The machine has always done its job well and has never let us down.”

The G3500 has a Z-BAR construction as standard. To ensure proper performance and fuel efficiency, the G3500 is powered by a new and reliable 48.5 kW / 66 hp diesel engine from Kubota. The engine is equipped with a catalytic converter (DOC) and particulate filter (DPF) according to the latest, EU Stage V, standards for clean engines. In combination with hydrostatic 4-wheel drive with automotive steering and 100% switchable lock on both, 14-tonne axles, this ensures a performance of size. “We specifically chose the stage V engine,” Ralph says. “This is because it produces cleaner air, which is better for humans and animals. This is very important for us within our company.”

Can be used nearly endlessly
K.I. SAMEN has opted for a spacious, full option cab because they work with the GIANT G3500 all year round. The cab is comfortable, ergonomic and quiet. But it is also equipped with LED working lights and traffic lights so that work can continue properly and safely in winter. Another option that was chosen is boom suspension. Because the machine has a driving speed of 30 km/h, carrying out transport work with boom suspension is much more comfortable and efficient.

In addition, this machine can be used endlessly for all common activities on the livestock farm, thanks to the extensive range of more than 200 attachments. The standard working hydraulics of 70 l/min in combination with the manual throttle option makes working with hydraulic attachments, such as the MVB 1250 divide bucket, very user-friendly and easy to deploy. In addition, a bale fork, snow blade and a feed and manure scraper are used.

Bas explains what the GIANT G3500 is used for: “The work that the GIANT performs on the dairy farm is feeding and pushing, mucking out pens and filling boxes. All work performed on a dairy farm can easily be performed with the G3500. The wheel loader works great in narrow spaces because it is very manoeuvrable.” In addition, the ideal machine for the dairy farm should not weigh more than 3.5 tons due to the slats in the barn. And the GIANT G3500 also meets this requirement.

Electric GIANT vibratory plate in production

GIANT GP1950E is the first to be equipped with an electric Honda engine
After an intensive period of development and testing, TOBROCO-GIANT is the first European manufacturer to have permission from Honda Engines to take an electric vibratory plate into serial production. The GIANT GP1950E is not only TOBROCO-GIANT's first electric compaction machine but also marks the start of a complete product line of electric rammers and vibratory plates.

Suitable for indoor and outdoor use
The electrically powered GIANT GP1950E is equipped with  a motor power of 1,6 kW and is specially designed for heavy work. The vibratory plate weighs 103 kg and delivers an impact force of 19,1 kN. Depending on the surface this can result into a speed of 32 m/min  which makes the performance equivalent to the diesel and petrol variant (GP1950B).

The lack of emissions makes the vibratory plate extremely suitable for work in city centres, residential areas and around schools. But working without emissions also allows the GIANT GP1950E to be used in trenches and tunnels as the operator and bystanders are not bothered by exhaust gases.

Lithium-ion technology
The GP1950E is driven by a completely new developed electric engine from Honda. The engine manufacturer has already been known for years because of its reliability  which is why  GIANT vibratory plates and rammers have been fitted with gasoline engines of this Japanese brand for many years.

Because of the GXE2.0H motor and the lithium-ion battery  Honda is leading the way in electrically driven motors that ensure that the GIANT GP1950E delivers the right performance and is easy to charge. The battery is positioned in  a way that makes is easy to be quickly replaced with a full one. While work continues, the battery can be charged up to 80% within one hour via a quick charger (230 V).

TOBROCO-GIANT expands dealer network in Austria

Manufacturer of compact wheel loaders ensures to be as close as possible to customers within Austria

The manufacturer TOBROCO-GIANT from the Netherlands is actually changing its structure for sales and support for Austrian customers. To be able to work closer with the customers in Austria there won’t be only one general importer in the future. A whole dealer network for GIANT will be built up like it has already been done with success in a lot of other companies.

Within 25 years, TOBROCO-GIANT from Oisterwijk in the Netherlands has evolved to be a well known and estimated manufacturer of high quality wheel loaders, telescopic loaders, telehandlers and skidsteers and the matching attachments. Meanwhile, the company offers 35 different machine models with a weight from 750 kg up to 6,000 kg and a performance between 20 and 76 hp, the amount of all available different attachments is now bigger than 200. In addition, there are a lot of different options available for all kinds of machines as well as custom made solutions for attachments. At the same time the total number of produced machines is growing gradually, the manufacturing capacities at the plants in Hungary (welding shop and frame factory) and in the Netherlands are currently being expanded with the building of new manufacturing buildings.

Close connection to customers
The machines and attachments built in Oisterwijk are currently sold to more than 60 different countries. To be able to act according the company’s guideline „We build what you want!“ and to respond to customer wishes, TOBROCO uses all possibilities to shorten the distance between manufacturer and customers and to act referring to the special needs of each country. This close connection is very important to founder and owner of TOBROCO-GIANT, Toine Brock, because he is convinced that only a real closeness to the customers makes it possible to get the important feedback regarding machines and attachments with every day’s work and then use this knowledge on further development of the machines. Brock explains: „Whenever we develop new machines or optimize existing models we always act according to our customers‘ demands which they pass on to us because of the experiences of their daily work and still existing needs. In order to get this information, we always want to have a close contact to our customers - in all countries.“

Successful dealer network
Within the Netherlands, in Germany and in Switzerland the dealer network has already been gradually developed, so that the distance for customers to the closest GIANT dealer is as short as possible, when it comes to sales, service, spare parts and repairs .The same for North America: Based on the US TOBROCO-GIANT sales office the network of dealers is also steadily spreading across the country. This is why TOBROCO-GIANT wants to have a good dealer in every region of Austria.

Dealers are supervised and coached from the headquarters of TOBROCO, have access to trainings, receive all important information and are able to pass on their knowledge to the customers when giving personal advise on the machines. Customers have the advantage of short distances to the closest dealer where they always can have a look at the real machines.

Because it hasn’t been possible to find a common strategy concerning sales and service in the future, the cooperation with the previous general importer for Austria has been finished. Meanwhile, the first Austrian dealers have been found: they now sell GIANT machines and attachments in their region and deal directly with the customers. At the moment, TOBROCO-GIANT watches out for more of these motivated and competent dealers.
Mark Mocking, account manager for TOBROCO-GIANT, explains: „We are really happy that this new dealer network is expanding quickly, so that we can offer our Austrian customer a quick and easy access to the machines, advisory and service close to where they live.“

TOBROCO-GIANT EXPANDS RANGE WITH SAMAC ACQUISITION

Manufacturer of vibratory plates and rammers becomes part of TOBROCO-GIANT
TOBROCO-GIANT, the manufacturer of GIANT wheel loaders, skid steer loaders, telehandlers and attachments, takes over the Dutch ULBO Machinery BV. The targeted acquisition fits TOBROCO-GIANT's vision to grow into a full-liner in the field of compact equipment.

ULBO Machinery BV was founded in 1965 and specializes in developing, producing and supplying a complete range of compaction machines such as vibratory plates and vibratory rammers under the SAMAC brand name. The company is located in Zwolle, where the machines are developed and produced for the international machine market. TOBROCO-GIANT takes over all facilities and personnel of ULBO Machinery BV.

Developed in the Netherlands, built for the world.
The acquisition brings together two Dutch brands known for their quality and innovation. “Both companies have a lot in common and that ensures that this acquisition offers great added value to our customers, dealers and suppliers,” said TOBROCO-GIANT director and owner Toine Brock. “The machines from GIANT and SAMAC are developed and produced entirely in-house in modern factories in the Netherlands. Both brands have a leading product portfolio and are known for their quality. In addition, the innovation of the machines continues continuously. In this way we can further expand the range and optimize existing models.”

Taking benefit from collaboration
Exchanging experiences in development, purchasing, production and sales ensures that the brands will benefit from the collaboration. For example, both companies have focused on electrification of the existing models. TOBROCO-GIANT now has two electric wheel loaders and is going to expand this number considerably. SAMAC is at an advanced stage when it comes to an electric vibratory plate and rammer.

TOBROCO-GIANT sees plenty of opportunities in the field of sales and service. “Currently, it runs through several dealer networks, offering the opportunity to expand the machine's presence to more customers and more markets,” said Brock. “We have a network of 750 dealers in more than 60 countries, which gives us the opportunity to sell the vibratory plates and rammers directly in a large number of countries. In addition, the SAMAC dealer network gives us new opportunities for the sale of GIANT machines.”

TOBROCO-GIANT grows to full-liner
The takeover is a further step in expanding the range of compact equipment. Brock: “On the one hand, we invest in new products when it comes to GIANT machines and attachments. On the other hand, this is a nice extension of our portfolio to also tap into other market segments. Vibratory rammers and vibratory plates fit perfectly with our current GIANT machines. Whether it concerns rental companies, landscapers, road workers or customers from the earthmoving sector, they are already familiar with both brands and can now contact TOBROCO-GIANT for purchase and service. Our goal is that we can offer a total solution for companies in the future. Customers can then go to one brand for all their compact machines.”

TOBROCO-GIANT BROUGHT THE FOUR SMALLEST WHEEL LOADERS TO PERFECTION

Compact powerhouses received extra features
In addition to a lot of new product developments the constant optimising and advancement of the existing product portfolio according to customer’s demands is the top priority for TOBROCO-GIANT. For this reason the four smallest models, the G1100 and G1200 and their tele-versions have been constantly optimised in recent years. Also there are now a lot of extra options for these machines available.

Since their appearance some years ago, the smallest members of the TOBROCO-GIANT wheel loader family became very popular not only in construction, but also with companies working in landscaping and gardening In times of well-trained employees being scarce while work and deadlines are creating more and more pressure, the importance of having a versatile and compact motorised helper has considerably increased. At the same time it is also very important to improve the working conditions for employees, so they can manage the great variety of different duties in a safe and healthy manner.

For this reason, these days a lot of tasks, such as delivering of material within the building site, little transporting and excavating tasks, which have been done by hand for a long time, are now delegated to the compact machines. They have to be able not only to work within limited space while providing a high performance but at the same time they need to be transported easily from one site to the next and be deployable for a lot of different purposes.

Small weight - great flexibility
With a service weight of only 1.100 kg for the G1100 and G1200 and 1.200 kg for the G1100 TELE and G1200 TELE the compact machine are easily and quickly transported on a common car trailer from one working site to the next. The attachments which play their role in the incredible versatility of the machine can be put on the trailer as well with no trouble at all. All the same the smallest GIANTS really live up to their name “Giant Ant”, because they are able to almost lift their own weight. The tele-versions of the two models still offer a lifting capacity of 750 kg.

The small powerhouses are driven by four strong Poclain wheel engines, which provide surprisingly high push and pull forces and are known to be really low maintainance. Due to the hydrostatic four wheel drive with automotive control the wheel loaders show very comfortable driving characteristics, the electrically controlled slip differential makes sure that alle four wheels stay safely on the ground all the time. To change between forward and backward is made very easy with an electrical switch.
The flexibility of the machines is based on the right range of attachments. TOBROCO-GIANT has a team of engineers who are specialized on attachments, they are focused on developing new and improving existing attachments. This is reflected in the complete line of attachments for the G1100 and G1200 models. Whether it is a sweeper, tree grab or soil bucket, the GIANT attachments are specifically designed for these machines and guarantee the best performance and efficiency.

A lot of optimising
Even when the machines haven’t changed a lot from the outside, there have been made quite a few technical changes on them: The engines (20hp for the G1100 and 25 hp for G1200) are now Stage V engines according to international standard. As well there are protective plates on the bottom and on the front on the machine to protect it against damage by branches, rocks, etc.

To make transport and the lifting of the machine easier there are now lifting eyes provided. This way, it can be tightly fixed on the trailer and transported to its destination and, if necessary, easily lifted over a wall. The machine can be supplied with narrowed mudguards so that it is now even more narrow and makes it with 87,5 cm literally through every door.

New options available for more individual adaption
Now there are - apart from the above mentioned changes of the standard model - more options for G1100 and G1200 (Tele) available. For a more comfortable way of working there is a mechanically suspended seat including safety belt, armrest and backrest on offer. Furthermore, there is a transport securing device, so you can block the arm in all directions by just pressing a button. Another option is the hose rupture protection in combination with floating position and transport securing device. As well it is possible to order the machines with road specification from the factory.

Exclusively for the G1200 and the G1200 Tele there are two extra options: Either the HD driving mechanism or a higher driving speed (up to 19 km/h) can be chosen. HD stands for Heavy Duty and provides 45% more pulling force than the standard version. A higher driving speed makes a lot of sense if material must be loaded, unloaded or transported over longer distances.

A lot of arguments for the “little ones”
With the help of the new details the two models offer even more comfort when handling the machine and can even more reliably when taking over different tasks in construction, landscaping and gardening: Lifting: transporting, loading, digging or cleaning, there are nearly no limits. In addition the two tele-versions load in great height or store and fetch material from high rise racks. Compared to their service weight they really lift a lot. Due to their small weight they work without damaging the surface. Also they can be lifted to remote places like inside buildings or internal courtyards, where normally no machines can be set to work.

THREE ELECTRIC GIANT G2200E X-TRA WHEEL LOADERS WORK WITHOUT EMISSIONS FOR HEIJMANS IN THE CENTRE OF AMSTERDAM.

„As recently more and more customers ask for sustainable and emission-free building sites and e.g. municipalities prefer companies who can offer to realize projects this way, the partner of Heijmans, Hup Bestrating, invested in three electrically driven GIANT wheel loaders since the beginning of last year. The machines met all the requirements and could easily compare with the diesel versions in respect of performance but create only a minimum in disturbance when working on sites in the centre of Amsterdam.“

Heijmans wants to build CO2-neutral after 2023 and has the ambition to realize completely emission-free works by 2026. Not only good for the climate, it also provides better workplaces for employees and less nuisance for the environment. Hup Bestrating has been working as a subcontractor for Heijmans since 2006 and uses three electric G2200E X-TRA wheel loaders for road works in the Amsterdam city centre.

Quickly convinced of the G2200E
At the end of 2019, Hup went in search of an electric wheel loader because he was convinced of the possibilities and potential of this machine. It was important to him that the machine could perform all the work that was carried out by a diesel variant at that time. To put it to the test, a demo was requested. In this way it was tested in practice whether the machine would be suitable.

Jeroen Hup: “We were convinced of the G2200E X-TRA within five minutes. The machine is powerful because you have the power available immediately. Due to the three different driving positions, it is always possible to work precisely. In addition, the machine easily lifts a pallet of paving stones. ”

“Furthermore, the machine turned out to be nice and quiet because no hydrostat is used. This makes it very easy to consult with each other during work. In January 2020 we received the first G2200E X-TRA and the machine just does exactly what we want. So good, in fact, that we put the second machine into use in August 2020 and the third machine in January of this year. ”

CO2 neutral construction site
Clients such as Rijkswaterstaat, water boards and municipalities are increasingly demanding a CO2-neutral construction site. “That is why it is very important that we switch to clean energy sources for many more activities,” says Lars Sies. As a manager in the northwest region, he and his team carry out many road works in the Amsterdam city centre.

The construction sites of Lars are already partly designed in a sustainable way. “In one of our projects, a GreenBattery supplies the power needed for the site hut, for hand tools and for the electric GIANTs. A diesel generator is therefore superfluous. Other sustainable solutions are small power tools such as a rammer and vibrating plate. Less emissions and noise. Better for the environment and the colleague who operates the machine.”

Jeroen adds; “The municipality not only regularly checks the work, but also whether electrical work is being done. This has everything to do with the commitment that has been made to reduce CO2 as much as possible.”

Working day and night
Hup employs 6 people in 2 shifts on different projects. Part of the work takes place in the evening or at night, because it is then quiet and work can be done safely. “The silence of the G2200E X-TRA comes in handy, because it limits the inconvenience. We also opted for extra work lights and traffic lighting so that we always have enough light for the work.”

“The electric loaders are used for a wide range of activities that contribute to improving road safety. This varies from carrying out repairs to the complete renovation of roads, footpaths and bicycle paths. We are responsible for removing the old paving, levelling it and finally paving it again. In order to be able to perform all these activities properly, we have invested in a large number of accessories for the machines. This could include a tile and soil tray, but also various clamps such as a tire clamp and hydraulic paver laying clamp.”

Never without power
All three articulated loaders are equipped with the heaviest lithium-ion battery of 520 Ah and have an “on board” charger 60A (230V). “I can work for 2 days with a full battery. Of course the machine sometimes stops and the GIANT uses nothing at all. Then the machine goes on the charger overnight and the battery is full again in 5 hours. It is especially important for a user to adapt. For example, if I am working with the machine all day, I will recharge during the break. In this way I know for sure that I can work with the machine all day and that I am never without power.”

TOBROCO-GIANT presents G2300 HD and G2300 X-TRA HD wheel loaders

Built to meet customers’ wishes
TOBROCO-GIANT presents the wheel loader type G2300 HD and G2300 X-TRA HD
According to their motto „We build what you want“, TOBROCO-GIANT has always been known for intensively giving ear to the demands of their customers: The latest results of the close interaction between the producer and the users of the machines are two new models of the G2300 series - with these TOBROCO-GIANT reached the goal of giving higher performance an even more compact wrapping, so that the machine is easy to transport.

Whenever the Dutch producer for wheel loaders, telescopic loaders an attachments is developing or optimising a machine, it is always about finding solutions with which customers can fulfil their tasks with the help of the machines even quicker, easier and more efficiently. Toine Brock, founder, owner and CEO of TOBROCO-GIANT has started his business 25 years ago, because he hadn’t been satisfied with the machinery he had to use for his work then. Even today, he is often giving new models a practical test himself. He, his employees and retailers always have close and intense contact with their customers to learn about their needs and challenges. He explains: “If we develop a new model or enhance an existing machine, we always do this because of a specific demand we receive from the market. We always listen very intensely when customers tell us what exactly they need for their work.”

This motivation has been the reason for the development of the G2300 HD which is also available as X-TRA-version. Users have demanded a model which is located exactly between the existing types G2200 HD+ and G2500 HD.

Compactly designed with impressing performance
The machine is equipped with a 26 hp-Kubota engine with 1500 cm3 cubic capacity, four cylinders and high torque and is certified to EU standard level V for clean engines. For huge driver’s comfort combined with high performance the machine has got a hydrostatical four-wheel-drive and limited slip on both axles.

Due to the 8-ton planetary axles the machine has got a traction force of 23.000 N, which is urgently required for a lot of different tasks on building sites, with earth-moving tasks, on farms or with gardening and landscaping. Tipping loads of 1.595 kg for the G2300 HD or 2.260 kg for the X-TRA version ensure powerful and efficient loading and unloading of materials.

The whole power unit has got the same high performance available as the one of the G2500, the next superior model in the range. For this reason the G2300 gets a maximum in traction, an extraordinary high pulling force while still working smoothly under all working conditions. With all these characteristics of the higher-class model the G2300 has got the advantage of being more compactly built, because the frame has been especially adjusted for this model to make room for the bigger engine. This way the machine has got a widths of only 108 cm on standard tyres which makes it easy to get through narrow pathways. Like that it is no problem to reach sites in backyards of buildings.

Because of the operating weight of 2.300 and 2.350 kg both models can be transported very easily on a car trailer from one working site to the next, so there is a maximum of flexibility and the machine doesn’t have unnecessary holding times due to complicated transport.
To reach an even higher productivity there is the option to equip the machine with the patent-registered Stabilo-system. This option creates extra safety and comfort, because all unevenness of the ground is settled without any loss in performance.

Safety and comfort
All machines are equipped with a safety roof as a standard. Optionally, this can be changed into a foldable safety roof or a complete cabin. All roofs and cabins have been intensively tested by independent controllers and are certified on the international ROPS/FOPS-standard. The curved windscreen and the narrow stacks lead to an excellent 360° view. So the driver is always able to view the whole working area and can work safely and precisely at any time.
A sprung and adjustable comfortable seat helps to create a pleasant working condition as well as the spacious and comfortable working environment with control instruments that are easy to use, the smoothly operating joystick and the tilting and adjustable steering column - this comfort equipment prevents exhaustion and leads to comfortable and efficient work during long hours.

Attachments for every task
TOBROCO-GIANT offers more than 200 different attachments so that the G2300 models can be used all year round. Whether it concerns buckets, sweepers or snowblades, the machines always work in an optimal way which ensures higher effectivity and profitability. The attachments have been developed according to the characteristics of the machines and therefore provide the best collaboration between machine and attachment and always ensure high performance.

High-class race horses and a powerful electric GIANT machine

Electric loader G2200E-X-TRA convinces everybody on a horsefarm in Geldern, lower-rhine-area, Germany

Here you see noisy machines, which do the daily work in the stables, transport feed, straw bales and other loads or discard of manure and at the same time there are sensitive high-value and noble sports horses - this is quite a contradiction. The new E-loader from TOBROCO-GIANT represents a contemporary solution to this dilemma:
He doesn’t rank behind the diesel-models at all concerning power, compact measures or manoeuvrability and at the same time does his work without emissions and noise, which human beings and animals estimate quite a lot.

Since many years, Dietmar Hax and his father Josef run (besides a nursery) the intensive breeding and training of sport horses on their native farm in Geldern in the lower-rhine-area. At this farm the history of horses goes back to as much as 100 years, with more ambi-tions since the 1960s. These days, not only insiders know the name of „Chagall H“ and his successful Svedish rider Michell Hagmann Hassink or and approved stallions natured on the farm as „De Niro’s Erbe H“, who tell a story of success about the horses that have been trained on the Hax’s farm All horses are educated by Dietmar Hax up to the Grand Prix lev-el, a lot of them have been and still are internationally successful. The clients that come to the horse farm to find their personally congenial riding or tournament horse are equivalently discerning and with international origin.

Horse breeding is hard work
In this family business all participants know that horse breeding is hard work, every day. Besides father and son Hax the whole family and several employees and helpers take care of the well-being of the horses, so they can live and grow in best conditions and are looked after perfectly. It becomes obvious in many different ways how much heart and soul is put into breeding and educating of the horses. It is no exaggeration that there is a deep emo-tional connection between Hax and his horses, so that each sale also means the letting go of an beloved protégé.

The general philosophy is to let the animals live the most natural way possible. This in-cludes besides the individual training the spending of a lot of time on the large meadows, as well as the use of natural and gentle remedies in case a horse should hurt itself. As im-portant is the close and trusting cooperation with the vet.

GIANT works on this farm for a longer time
A few years ago the first GIANT wheel loader, a D337T, has been taken to machinery of the horse farm. In the meantime the electric wheel loader G2200E X-TRA has been taken addi-tionally on the basis of a long-term lease. The compact and agile loader with the small turning circle is used to muck out the stables, to transport and pile up the straw or feed into the stables or onto the meadows and for a lot more other little tasks. „Everybody is able to use this machine, you just get on and get something done for which we formerly used to take a wheelbarrow“, says Dietmar Hax.

“The GIANT which we have been using since a few years has quickly replaced our tractor, because this machine has been too large and unfunctional moving around the stables. We then had to take out the whole wall of the stables when we had to remove the manure, these days we only have to open the doors for the GIANT to transport stuff into and out of the stables. Also, it is easy to drive from one stable into the other, for example to transport straw bales or feed.“

Characteristics of the electric GIANT
The G2200E is equipped with a 48V-lithium-ionen-battery as a standard, which takes the room where on the other model the engine is located. With the help of two separate electric engines, one with 6,5 kW for the power unit of the machine and one 12 kW-engine for the hydraulics, there is always enough power to execute all the different chores precisely. The X-TRA-model has a tipping height of 2,45 meters and a tipping weight of 2.200 kg - this way it is perfectly prepared for all the hard work on the farm. TOBROCO-GIANT offers three different lithium-Ionen-batteries as a choice with different performances of 260 Ah, 390 Ah or 520 Ah. Depending of the model of the battery one load is sufficient to be able to work without a break for 4, 6 or 8 hours within normal working conditions. This Dietmar Hax con-siders as fully sufficient, because the battery can - if needed - also be loaded during the day, at a time when the loader is not needed.

A lot of advantages
Dietmar Hax is convinced that his customers have every right to expect that on the horse farm not only the general equipment as stables, meadows and the riding hall fits to the high-class horses, but also the machines which are used and therefore can show the com-petence of the farmers. The electric loader G2200E X-TRA has shown a lot of advantages in use: The work in the stable cannot be interrupted all the times when a customer, who often comes a long way to have a close look at the horses, is on the farm. With the quietly working E-loader this is no problem at all. „This is a huge advantage: We can train horses, and give advice to our customers on the farm while all the time the stable work and the care for the horses can go on without any restrictions, because nobody is getting disturbed by the electric loader“, recounts Hax his experience.

Also, it is for employees and animals all the same very comfortable, if there are no emis-sions any more within the stable. What is more, the loader really fits well into the sustaina-bility concept of the company. Not only the animals should be offered a tender and loving surrounding without disturbances, but also the employees are meant to feel good working there. This attitude against sustainability is also shown in another place. The whole roof of the stable is full of solar panels, so that the electric loader can be used with the help of self-made and CO2-neutral energy. „If you have an electric loader, you can use it a lot without a bad conscience, because your are driving emission-free“, says Dietmar Hax.

At the beginning there have been fears that an electric loader would not provide the need-ed power for all the different tasks or would just show himself not strong enough. Or that the battery wouldn’t work long enough. All these fears have been destroyed while working with the new GIANT. „We found out that the electric loader is as powerful as the diesel-powered model and offers at the same time the advantages we have named before“, explains Hax.

Still, the higher costs of investments surely make a point. According to Dietmar Hax it would be great, if German politics not only gave subsidies to electric cars, but also to E-machines like it is done in other European countries for quite a while. Then the E-loader would become more and more common in horse farms, nurseries and farms - all for the sake of man and animal.

25 YEARS TOBROCO-GIANT; DEVELOPED IN THE NETHERLANDS, BUILT FOR THE WORLD.

After an eventful year with highs and lows, 2021 will be a year in which TOBROCO-GIANT celebrates its 25th anniversary. What started in 1996 as a company in ornamental fencing and injectors has grown through the further development and production of GIANT machines into an international company with three own branches and the ambition to grow considerably in the coming years to 9,500 machines by 2025.

Director and owner Toine Brock: “this milestone could not have been achieved without the commitment and involvement of employees, dealers and suppliers. And of course from our customers all over the world who use our machines every day and are convinced of the quality of GIANT machines and attachments. This gives us the confidence that we can continue to grow in the coming years and be busy with what I love to do; develop and build machines that meet all the wishes and requirements of customers worldwide.”

From injectors to wheel loaders
It all started in 1996 with the foundation of TOBROCO, which stands for Toine Brock Construction. Injectors were developed and built under this name. These were well received and over the years also exported to other European countries. Until early 2001 the foot-and-mouth disease broke out and production came to a complete standstill.

Because Toine is a real entrepreneur he discussed a solution with his employees immediately. Because of his agricultural background, Toine already knew that the companies in his area could make good use of a multifunctional tool carrier to lighten the work and perform it more efficiently. The idea for the GIANT wheel loader was born.

Brock: “The name GIANT was chosen for an obvious reason. It is the abbreviation for Gigantic Ant and a reference to the animals with their unique capabilities and the possibility to lift up to 50 times their own weight. A feature that is reflected in all GIANT machines because they are known for being able to lift a lot in relation to their own weight.”

The loader was further perfected in the first year with feedback from customers. Soon after, it was not only local companies that bought a machine, but there was already interest from abroad. The current importer for Denmark and Sweden, Brdr Sørensen, has been there from the start and Firma Beel as importer for Belgium followed soon after.

Rapid growth abroad
In 2014 TOBROCO-GIANT built the 10,000th machine. The company needed 13 years to reach this milestone. The next 10,000 machines needed less time because at the end of 2018 the counter was already at 20,000. Last year the 25,000th machine was produced. These milestones have everything to do with the rapid growth abroad. Frans van Asseldonk, Manager Sales & Marketing: “The number of countries where GIANT machines are sold has risen to 61 and in those countries TOBROCO-GIANT works together with more than 750 dealers. In Africa, the first steps were recently taken with a new dealer in South Africa.”

“In 2016, an important step was the opening of its own sales and service office in America. More and more companies in the US and Canada are opting for compact wheel loaders because of the comfort, ease of operation, fuel savings and the fact that the machines hardly damage the ground surface. Due to the popularity of the machines, the dealer network in North America has grown to 95 within a few years and this number will continue to grow in the coming years,” explains Van Asseldonk.

Oisterwijk as a base
In 2003, the possibilities in Haaren turned out to be insufficient and a building was bought on the industrial estate of Oisterwijk in order to be able to grow further. The growth came about because the portfolio of machines was further expanded with different types of wheel loaders, but also the introduction of the first GIANT telescopic loader. For example, the range of models in 2005 already consisted of 20 units. In addition, there was increasing interest in machines from other sectors such as construction, pavers and gardeners.

In order to keep up with growth and meet the demand for machines, construction began in 2009 on a new factory with two floors and a surface area of 20,000 m2. A year later, the new building was completed and the move to this new production facility was a fact. Not a moment too soon as a telehandler is added to the program and the sales numbers increased from 750 machines in 2009 to almost 1500 units in 2013.

Until 2013, a lot of welding and construction work was outsourced to various suppliers in the interior and abroad. For more efficiency and to guarantee quality, it was decided that year to do everything in-house in a new factory in Hungary. There, 40 employees manufactured the attachments and frames, after which they were transported to Oisterwijk.

Doubling of business space
With a target of 9,500 machines by 2025, additional operating space is required to increase production and maintain essential quality. That is why TOBROCO-GIANT has already invested € 18 million from 2018 in the expansion of the production facility, a high-bay warehouse and construction of new production lines. The new warehouse was put into use in September and the latest production lines will be finalized in early 2021. The production facility was expanded by 8,000 m2, bringing the total to 30,000 m2.

Toine Brock explains: “the recent expansion will not be enough to be able to continue the growth of the company in the coming years. That is why the company surface will be doubled in the coming years. The construction of a new hall will start immediately in January. It will be 6,000 m2 in size and the assembly of frames will take place here. There is also space on the roof to park cars. In addition, a plan is ready for the construction of a new storage hall of 2,500 m2 for 2022.”

“At the same time, a multifunctional building will be opened in 2021 that will serve as a showroom and experience centre, but also for the construction of specials, development of new machines and training location. A site of 25,000 m2 was purchased for this in 2020. After a thorough renovation, customers can test their new machines here from the end of 2021, but dealers can also follow various training courses here. If customers have special wishes when it comes to machine options or attachments, they will be built here in the future. In this way, it remains possible to deliver custom work for customers who have specific requirements for a GIANT machine or attachment.”

“Not only in the Netherlands, but also in Hungary, we will work hard on expansion in the coming years. Ten kilometres from the current factory, an area of 18,000 m2 has been purchased in Füzesabony. A new industrial hall with offices of 8,000 m2 will be completed here in 2022. The remaining space makes it possible to expand further in the future if necessary.”

These expansions are good for employment in both the Netherlands and Hungary. In Oisterwijk, TOBROCO-GIANT has grown into the largest employer with 320 employees from fifteen different countries. The number is expected to grow to 420 employees by the end of the year. In Hungary, the company started with 40 employees in 2013 and this number has also grown over the years. At the moment, 100 employees work here every day.

“Focus on continuing to innovate”
Another spearhead of TOBROCO-GIANT is the broad portfolio of machines and attachments. At the moment it consists of 30 different models from 750 to 6,000 kg, from 20 to 76 hp. And when it comes to attachments, there is a wide choice with a range of over 200 different implements. Brock: “The number of different types will increase significantly in the future with the introduction of new models. In addition, the range of electric models will be further expanded in the coming years to offer customers both a diesel variant and an electric alternative of the same model.”

“When developing a new model, the demand from the market is explicitly considered. The latest model that will be introduced in the short term is the G2300 (X-TRA) HD. This model was developed because there is a demand for a model between the existing G2200 HD+ and G2500 HD. The machines are equipped with a 1500 cc, Kubota engine, with 4 cylinders and high torque. The hydrostatic four-wheel drive with automotive steering and 8-tonne planetary axles (Heavy Duty version) give the machines a pulling force of 23,000 N. The G2300 HD has an operating weight of 2,300 kg and a tipping load of 1,595 kg. The G2300 X-TRA HD has an operating weight of 2,350 kg and a tipping load of 2,260 kg. Both models will go into production in February of this year.”

“Furthermore, TOBROCO-GIANT will introduce five new TELE models in 2021. Now the range consists of a TELE variant of the smallest model (D204SW TELE) and the two largest models (G3500 TELE and G5000 TELE). With the introduction of the G1500 TELE, G2200 TELE, G2300 TELE, G2500 TELE and G2700 TELE, a complete line of telescopic loaders will be available.”

“With regard to the electric models, the existing range is expanded with the G2500E and G2500E X-TRA. Both machines operate in a class higher than the G2200E (X-TRA) with an operating weight of 2,500 kg. This makes the machines extremely suitable for transporting on a trailer and offers a lot of flexibility for the user. In 2020, a start was also made on developing machines in the 1.5 and 3.5 ton class.

With Jungheinrich, TOBROCO-GIANT has found a global and reliable partner with expertise when it comes to developing electrical machines. This knowledge is shared with the R&D department of TOBROCO-GIANT, which is a department t of 30 engineers and which is focused on developing a machine in-house using only the best components. The move to a new and modern location will ensure that the innovations will continue unabated. This is not only about developing new machines and attachments, but also optimizing existing models.”

GIANT G3500 X-TRA CONTRIBUTES TO CLEAN WATER AT WATER COMPANY DE DOMMEL

Water Company De Dommel manages the water in 32 municipalities and works with more than 450 employees on clean and sufficient water. They are also responsible for protecting 890,000 people in this area against flooding. One of the eight water treatment plants can be found in Eindhoven, where after fifteen years a GIANT V621 was replaced by a new GIANT G3500 X-TRA.

Clean water
Mario Verbeek, Stock Coordinator at Water Company De Dommel, works at the wastewater system in Eindhoven and explains what happens at this location. “In the Netherlands, 120 liters of water per person is used every day and this water becomes dirty when people wash, cook, shower, flush the toilet, etc. All this dirty water ends up in the municipal sewers and must be cleaned. Cleaning wastewater is one of De Dommel's most important tasks. The wastewater flows through the sewer pipes to the sewage treatment plant. Here the wastewater is cleaned in about three days so that we can let it flow back into streams or channels.”

“We have used a V621 for a variety of jobs for 15 years and it has now been replaced by a modern G3500 X-TRA with cabin. Since the site in Eindhoven covers fifteen hectares, we thought it was important that the machine is equipped with a cabin. In this way we can use the machine all year round. The machine is used for transporting materials, unloading trucks and keeping the site clean.”

A good machine will last for years
“The choice for a GIANT was made quickly. Since we had worked with the previous wheel loader for over fifteen years, we know that the quality of GIANT machines is excellent. The condition of the V621 was still so good that the machine is now being used at another depot. Here they use the machine to maintain waterways and weirs.”

“We are confident that we can move forward for years to come with the new G3500 X-TRA. Maintenance is done through our dealer so that the machine always receives proper attention. In addition, the machine is only used by a limited number of employees. These employees have received training and explanation about the new machine and attachments so that they know exactly what everything is for,” says Verbeek.

Versatile in use
Various attachments have been purchased with the machine. In addition to an earth bucket and pallet forks, a jip and sweeper are supplied with the machines as well. Verbeek: “We use the jip, for example, to hoist and transport materials. We assemble the propellers in our basins ourselves. These ensure that the water is propelled so that the dirt does not settle to the bottom of the basin. With the sweeper we can easily keep track of the terrain ourselves and ensure that everything remains tidy. ”

“But the contractors who work here also know where to find us. They soon realized that the GIANT is easy to move or unload materials. We are therefore regularly asked whether we can lend a hand. ”

Road approval and LED lights
In addition to the previously mentioned cabin, the G3500 X-TRA is equipped with various other options to ensure that work can be carried out properly. “It often happens that we drive this machine to another depot in Mierlo. We use the public road for this, which is why the articulated loader is equipped with road permit and traffic lighting. We immediately had the traffic lighting and work lights made in LED. This gives us a lot of light in the dark months but also savings on maintenance.”

"The machine makes its money"
“Despite the fact that the machine is not used forty hours a week, we can say that the G3500 X-TRA is working every day. This was already the case with the V621 and applies even more to the G3500 X-TRA. If we see how easily and quickly the work can be carried out, the machine will pay off, ”says Verbeek.

FarmTrader test: "Giant has hit the mark with its latest G5000 model

REVIEW: GIANT G5000 WHEEL LOADER
By: Mark Fouhy, Photography by: Lisa Potter

The recently released Giant G5000 sees Tobroco-Giant active in the five-tonne wheel loader class for the first time.

With one of the first models in the country delivered to Te Aroha Tractors, I set out to see the unit in action on a local goat farm where its versatility saw it quickly added to the machinery fleet. Although the five-tonne machine is firmly at the top of the Giant wheel loader range in terms of size, horsepower, reach, and lift capabilities, it’s still incredibly nimble and versatile – and best of all, these features are packed into a machine that manages to avoid being unnecessarily large.

It’s a powerful package, with the telescopic boom on the machine we tested capable of reaching 4.35 metres. With reach like that, the machines are well suited to busy farm life in New Zealand as well as construction and a host of other projects. With such expressive reach, loading the silage wagon is no trouble either, nor are mixer wagons; all handled with ease and well within the G5000’s reach and lift capabilities.

Operation
Being a dedicated wheel loader, everything is designed for easy accessibility and to make loading tasks as easy as possible. As you would expect, the joystick takes care of all the boom controls: to raise and lower the boom and also dumping.

Third service function is controlled by a side to side toggle switch on the back of the joystick. The boom extension/retraction is controlled by another toggle switch on top of the joystick on the right. With all key functions so close to the joystick, the operator can rest their arm on the ergonomically shaped armrest. Keeping things simple and allowing the operator to keep one hand on the steering wheel, the transmission has its own joystick toggle – this one red to differentiate it from the boom controls.

When in neutral, the park brake is automatically engaged. This is a handy feature but also explained why I couldn’t find any handbrake to release when I initially hopped in and started up the Giant G5000.

Driving is nice and simple, thanks to the two-speed hydrostatic transmission. The central dash indicates which gear you’re in with a green turtle or red rabbit. I found the turtle gear good for around the yard and heavy loading metal we had available, working comfortably from 0–7 km/hr. Max speed in this turtle range is 10 km/hr.

The second range is ideal for getting from point A to B efficiently, with max speed of 25 km/hr. You can also spec a 35 km/hr speed gearbox. However, keep in mind, as with most machinery, that the higher the speed, the more the comfort level tends to decrease, so unless it was pretty smooth going, I wouldn’t imagine you would be doing 35 km/hr around farm tracks a whole lot.

Giant has chosen to go with an articulated pendulum joint, which helps take care of the bumps and keep all four wheels on the ground 100% of the time. Other specifications to smooth out the ride include the patented Stabilo system as well as boom suspension, both increasing the ability to operate safely.

Cab and operator environment
Although the G5000 is one of the larger models in the range of Giant loaders, it still definitely fits into the compact loader market. This said, I still found the fully enclosed cab spacious enough for somebody of average height (approx. six foot).

Driving position is comfortable, thanks to the fully adjustable steering column and the convenient central display, which shows all necessary information. The display has been updated from previous models I’ve driven, with digital display for revs, hours, and fuel, etc.

Coloured LEDs illuminate for transmission functions, rabbit and turtle, and park lock, as well as direction and diff lock. All these functions fall easily to hand, being incorporated into the joystick controller.

For safety reasons, there’s a hydraulic lock over on the right-hand side behind the joystick to stop accidental bumping. Another nice feature is the hydraulic implement lock on the Euro hitch carrier. Again, for safety reasons, this requires two hands: one to hold the unlock button on the central display and the other to work the third service function, which controls the in and out of the locking pins.

One small feature tweak that I think would go well on this otherwise well-designed and thought-out machine is a pressure release function for the third service loader attachments. I must admit we wasted a little bit of time getting the grab bucket back on with pressure in the machine. Jiggling backwards and forwards on the joystick helped relieve the pressure and perhaps it was just a system I needed to get familiar with.

This machine has been spec’d with a closed in cab, which was just as well, as we encountered everything from high winds, rain, and sleet on the day we visited. You can also choose from just ROPs and roof if you prefer, but the luxury of the cab with air conditioning and radio is something I’m sure operators appreciate.

The previous Giant loader I tested last year also had the addition of reversing cameras and beacons as added safety features in a busy farm environment. This ability to customise direct from the factory to get the features you require for your situation is a big plus in making the investment in a new Giant machine work for you.

However, back to our test machine for the day: the tele version of the G5000, which is remarkably well suited to agricultural work and more than proving its worth with a wide range of tasks here on the goat farm. It’s also available in two other variants: Z-Bar and X-Tra, with more traditional loader arms, and slightly higher lifting capacity. This would be beneficial for more industrial tasks like roading, or municipal jobs like landscaping, demonstrating the depth and wide variety of potential uses these Giant wheel loaders have.

Build quality
It is hard to fault the Giant loader in terms of build quality. There is a reason the brand has such a solid reputation and aligns with other leaders in the field for specialist components. When producing a new model like the G5000, clearly a lot of thought goes into ensuring the right parts for the machine and its target market. For example, the axles from Comer are rated for 16 tonnes on a five-tonne machine, and it also features Bosch Rexroth hydraulics, the best you can buy, and Kubota engines, which are well known for their reliability in these types of applications. Even after choosing the right components, Giant still carries out its own extensive testing before releasing the final machine to market.

Quality is also evident in the cab, with comfortable air seating as standard and much thought clearly given to creating a comfortable operator environment, with adjustable steering, an ergonomic armrest, and a logically set up joystick, with controls well grouped for ease of use.

For the owners of this Giant G5000, build quality is one of the key reasons behind the purchasing decision. Although another brand had previously been operating on the goat farm, ongoing repair and maintenance bills were high and careful evaluation led to the decision to invest in the Giant G5000.

Engine
For this newest Giant model, the engine produces 75hp and 55kW – the second-largest fitted to the Giant brand of wheel loaders. Despite building a larger machine, Giant has stuck with its quality-tested and proven brands. The reliability of the small Kubota industrial engines has served Giant loaders incredibly well in the past (as well as a host of other brands and machines).

New features of the Kubota V3307 four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel are the catalytic converter (DOC) and soot filter (DPF), both of which allow this machine to comply with the latest EU Tier V clean air engine standards.

A key feature here for me is the fact they have been able to achieve this without the need for an additional AdBlue SCR exhaust treatment system. Power-wise, the 75hp Kubota engine seems ample for all the tasks we threw at it, including loading and carting roading metal and feeding out animals.

The large hydraulic pump ensures movement of the boom is neither laboured or slow, even when hydraulic power is required for multiple tasks, such as driving and steering the machine while loading. This makes it something of a joy to operate.

The only time you may like a little extra horsepower is if you were utilising the rear tow hitch to bring a trailer load of bales back form the paddock for stacking.

For daily checks, the one-piece lift-up rear cover makes things simple. The diesel filler is situated on the door side of the machine, with a 77-litre tank and hydraulic oil with 80-litre capacity is on the far side. The radiator is positioned at the back off the machine, which allows easy access to blow out any build-up of material, dust, grass, or wood chip. The cartridge type cyclonic air filter is on top of the engine for easy cleaning and up behind the cab to try and get the cleanest air to the engine as possible.

With just a little over 200 hours on its clock, the initial service at 50 hours has been completed by local dealer Te Aroha tractors, although, Giant has dealers throughout the country for regular servicing and any other issues should they arise, as well as many attachment options.

Hydraulics
When you’re running hydrostatic transmission as well as other high demand hydraulic circuits of a loader, hydraulic flow is a key factor in overall performance. Giant use an 80-litre oil reservoir to cope with these demands on the G5000 models. As standard, this model has 145 litres per minute hydraulic flow available for driving along 78 litres per minute for working hydraulics.

Quality German Bosch componentry is used in the hydraulic department. Like the rest of the machine, you can up-spec things with 122 litres per minute available for working should you have an attachment that requires higher flow rates.

I found the standard hydraulics more than adequate, even while doing more than one task at the same time. Extra hydraulic outlets can be added front and rear. Our test machine had two at the front and none at the back.

One downside I found was no pressure release valve to make life easier when changing between implements connected to the third service valve, although, it may well be available as an option. The two-speed hydrostatic works well and is easy for anybody to operate.

VERDICT
Giant has hit the mark with its latest G5000 model. The power offered in such a compact size is backed up with incredible manoeuvrability, perfect for those working in tight confines of sheds (like goat farms). The 75hp Kubota engine provides plenty of power in terms of four-wheel-drive traction with the lockable electric differentials. Hydrostatic four-wheel drive with automotive control and 100% switchable locks on both axles ensures the machine always has enough grip, a lot of pulling force, and smooth movement.

With lift capacity stretching out to 4.35 meters and hydraulic capacity with a flow rate of 145 litres per minute (for driving) and almost 80 litres per minute flow rate (for working tasks), there’s certainly nothing lacking here.

With this G5000, Giant once again proves it knows how to produce a powerful compact loader, versatile enough to cater for agriculture, horticulture, viticulture and construction.

WINTER SERVICE TIPS: GIANT MACHINES ARE READY TO WORK DURING WINTER

Temperatures drop between December and March which means an obligatory break for many construction and landscaping machines. Because GIANT machines can be used all year round, the winter service is a good way to take advantage of the full capacity of the machine and thus increase their profitability. Various GIANT specialists provide practical tips when it comes to preparing a machine for the winter and carrying out the work during the snow and ice control.

Preparation
“A good preparation is very important,” says Urs Maeder, technical specialist at Leiser AG in Switzerland. “We advise our customers to have a winter check performed on their GIANT before starting work. We check the machine on all important points and ensure that the machine also performs well in these circumstances. This is how we check whether the coolant and oil can withstand winter temperatures.”

“Customers can also take the necessary measures themselves to protect the machine against road salt. By properly lubricating the machine, important components are protected against the salt. In addition, the GIANT can be treated with a protective wax so that the salt does not affect the paint and the frame. But customers should also be aware that they use diesel that is approved for very low temperatures. For areas with height difference or when there is a lot of snow, it is wise to have snow chains available. This way you avoid getting stuck in the snow, ”says Maeder.

The right attachments and options
While an excavator is at a standstill in sub-zero temperatures, this is not the case with a GIANT. “Foresighted entrepreneurs take precautions,” says Tobias Eisele, Product Manager for compact machines with Kiesel, Germany. "What could be more logical than including snow and ice removal in the portfolio of activities? It makes sense to invest in a snow blade, salt spreader or sweeper to perform the winter service efficiently and economically. TOBROCO-GIANT has a wide range with different widths and with various options such as hydraulic angle adjustment of the snow blade"

Winter service is mandatory in a country like Germany. Whether it is a local government, a company or a private individual, no one can ignore the rules. Some municipalities like to do their winter maintenance themselves and use the machine that works on the municipal yard for this. Other municipalities outsource the winter service for their roads, sidewalks and parking lots to subcontractors such as farmers, gardeners or contractors. But private individuals and companies are also happy to outsource the work to clean driveways, paths or parking spaces.

“With the suitable model from GIANT, equipped with a snow blade and salt spreader, these tasks can be performed by yourself and/or for others. Because a GIANT is a tool carrier by nature, attaching the right tool is easy. A snow blade can be easily connected by the hydraulic quick coupler. Depending on the model, a salt spreader can also be coupled and operated hydraulically or electrically, ”says Eisele.

Luuk van Kessel, Account Manager at TOBROCO-GIANT: “In addition to the right attachments, it is important to consider at the time of purchase whether this type of work will be carried out. We have several options available that come in handy in winter. Think of a cabin or engine heater, but also of correct (LED) lighting and road clearance.”

“Many GIANT machines, from the G1500 up to the G5000, can be supplied with a closed cabin that is equipped with heating as standard. This makes the machines generally suitable for use at temperatures well below zero. The electric engine heater ensures that the cooling water is heated and the engine is already at the right temperature before it is started. This system is a matter of plug-and-play and works on 220V and 230V, ”explains Van Kessel.

GIANT machines with a cabin are equipped with five work lights as standard. Two at the front of the cab, two at the rear of the cab and one on the lift arm. For extra good visibility in the dark, these work lights are also available in LED and an additional work light on the lifting arm is also possible. To be clearly visible, there is the chance to mount a maximum of two (LED) beacons on the cabin or the safety roof. Another option is to install LED flash lamps at the front and rear of the safety roof or cabin.

Safe at work
The compact GIANT wheel loaders have a maintenance-free articulated pendulum swing system. This makes them ideal machines for working in areas with limited space such as pedestrian zones, cycle paths or on sidewalks and narrow parking lots. “The machines are so narrow that they don't interfere with the flow of traffic around them, even in the tightest of spaces. The use of narrow uprights and lots of glazing provide an optimal view of the surroundings so that e.g. parked cars can be avoided. ” explains Eisele.

The GIANT wheel loaders from 3.5 to 5.5 tonnes are ideal for large squares, parking spaces of supermarkets, distribution centers and for winter service on country roads. The G3500 and G5000 are designed to move heavy loads reliably from A to B. The high traction and lifting force make the machines perfect for tough winter work and easily push snow and ice aside.

Eisele: “For all GIANT machines, the hydrostatic four-wheel drive ensures that the machines continue to maneuver precisely and safely, even on slippery roads. In addition, there is a choice of models with a 100% switchable lock on both axes. If one of the wheels happens to hit a slippery piece of road surface, the machine stays safely on the road.

Regulations per country
“In Germany, anyone who performs, winter service activities for the community or other businesses - whether in schoolyards, at bus stops or on company grounds - must have their machine ready to be prepared from October to April, right in time before the beginning of winter. Everyone who enters into the contract for winter services must comply with legal obligations in terms of time and reliability and, if things go wrong, be liable. What must be observed by law can be found in the relevant federal and state laws. In addition, each municipality has its own regulations that you should be aware of. Especially for subcontractors, detailed operational plans are just as important as having the most reliable weather forecasts and inspections to protect themselves from unjustified liability claims, ”said Eisele.

Van Kessel: “When work is carried out on public roads or if work the machines has to drive via a public road, it is necessary to equip the machine with a road specification. The machine is equipped with traffic lights, side mirrors, license plate holder and transport lock. Because different rules apply to many countries, it is important to have a local GIANT dealer inform you properly. They are aware of local laws and regulations. ”

After the winter service
“To keep your GIANT in good condition during the winter, it is wise to rinse the machine with cold water after use. Do not use a high-pressure cleaner for this if you have applied a protective wax coating to the machine. Otherwise, the wax will be rinsed with the salt from the machine. After the winter is over, it is best to wash and hose down the entire machine from top to bottom to remove all salt from the machine. This prevents the paint, frame or electricity from being affected by the salt, ”says Maeder.

Buus Landscaping uses electric GIANT wheel loader in City Centre

In June proved the new electric GIANT G2200E X-TRA in Silkeborg in Denmark that it is a very good choice for heavy lifting tasks. It has been working for Buus Landscaping, a company with a remarkable green profile, when roadwork in “Denmark’s Greenest pedestrian street” in the city Centre of Silkeborg had to be carried out. The GIANT has been here very suitable fulfilling transporting and lifting tasks in the limited urban space of the pedestrian street - without disturbing people working and living in the city centre with noise or emissions.

Since their start in the market quite a few of the new electric GIANT wheel loaders of the G2200E-series have been imported by the Danish importer for GIANT-machines, Brdr. Holst Sorensen A/S, and passed on with the help of the 34 Danish dealers to the customers. Among them Buus Landscaping, who is already well represented in electric-powered machinery and received his G2200E X-TRA by his dealer Lyngfeldt.

About the machine
The company chose the X-TRA-version which is developed for extra hard work, especially in the contractor and construction sector. The G2200E X-TRA has a lifting height of 2.45 meters and a lifting capacity of 2,200 kg - its own weight. The machine is equipped with a 48 Volt lithium-ion battery with 250 Ah, located where the engine traditionally is placed on a GIANT loader. It is equipped with a built-in charger of 40 Amps which can be connected to a 230 V power supply. The wheel loader has two separate electrical motors, one with 6.5 kW for operating the machine, and the second one with 11.5 kW for the hydraulics.

The electric GIANT loader combines two important elements with the advantage of being an articulated loader. Low-noise operation and zero CO2-emissions. These two elements are advantageous for loading tasks especially indoors or in urban spaces. These are important for Buus Landscaping when they, among other locations, work in a pedestrian zone in Silkeborg.

Buus Landscaping and its green profile
The company already rides the green wave for a while and is known for focusing on climate and environmentally friendly machines. As some of the first companies in Denmark, it has now invested in an electrical GIANT loader. The company already owns six electrically driven cars which contribute to the use of green energy. They also have solar panels mounted on the roofs, supplying power to most of the craftsmen's hand tools. In addition to owning an electric Giant loader, Buus is also looking into electric excavators.

Michael Niemann, Sales Manager and Head of Department at Buus Landscaping explains his point of view: “Years ago, we wanted to sharpen our green profile. We asked ourselves where to start, so the electrical way came clear to us. We started off small with our battery and diesel-powered machines. Today all of the hand machines are electrically driven and we are also switching several of our larger construction machines to electric versions.”

Advantages of the electric GIANT on the building site
The company has been building "Denmark's Greenest pedestrian street" in Silkeborg with the help of the G2000E X-TRA which grants a lot of benefits: The use of the electric machine avoids that passers-by on the pedestrian street are exposed to diesel exhaust. The machine is also equipped with the right LED traffic light and LED backlight so people around the machine can see in which direction the machine is moving, which increases safety on the building site. Also important is the absence of a running diesel engine creating pollution in noise and emissions when working close to the apartments and shops. Without any disturbances of the surroundings the working day for Buus can start earlier in the morning.

Michael Niemann points out: “We see a big financial gain from owning electric machinery. Also, the working environment for the employees is very important. As a company we make both the demands: We like to have for a healthy working environment , but at the same time we like to meet the demands from our employees. They appreciate the benefit of not having to work close to noisy machines and unclean air. On a hot summer day with no wind on the construction site, it is unbearable to work next to a diesel-powered construction machine. That's also an important reason why we have chosen the electric GIANT mini loader.”

Enough power and low maintenance
When Buus uses their G2200E X-TRA with 250 Ampere battery for normal work, there is enough power available for a full day. If the tasks require a lot of continuous lifting or driving over longer distances, the loader is charged additionally during breaks. According to an internal agreement within the Buus company the last man to use the machine is also the one who connects it to the charger. Like that it is always charged overnight and able to work again the entire following day.

The additional investment in electric machinery is paid back in low maintenance costs on the machine. In addition, it is not only the individual on the street who sees the positive aspects in electricity, the employees do so too. If Buus wants to remain attractive as an employer, the company has to take the choice of a green transition. Also, the addition of an electric GIANT loader with Buus, the Landscaping company contributes to the country's long-term climate target of a 70% CO2 -reduction by the year 2030.

For Buus the only impediment at the moment is that the range of electric machines isn’t yet wide enough. Therefore, they’re closely following the development of electric-powered machinery and continue to work on their green profile.

50 GIANT SKID STEER LOADERS FOR BOELS RENTAL

Due to the growing demand for mini skid steer loaders, Boels Rental has expanded the range with 50 machines of the type SK252D. The keys to the first machines were handed over by Account Manager Luuk van Kessel to Sander Mulders, Tactical Buyer at Boels Rental.

The first machines were handed over at the beginning of May and the rest will be delivered in phases in 2020. The skid steers are initially distributed across the Benelux and Germany because the demand for these machines is greatest in these countries. “The machines are incredibly versatile, so the growing demand makes sense. As a rental company we want to meet our customers' needs as much as possible and have therefore decided to expand our fleet with this mini skid steer. We believe that the largest target groups for these machines will be working in construction, infrastructure, gardening and ground care in particular, but of course also for other applications,” says Mulders.

“An extensive benchmark has taken place where we have looked at all the top players in the (international) market. Various machines were tested on location and evaluated with different teams. In this way we worked together towards the final choice of the machine. In addition, we looked at the supplier and, for example, their service options. Boels operates internationally, so a supplier will also have to be able to support us internationally.”

“Total cost of ownership is very important to us. The GIANT SK252D is a well-developed machine. It requires little maintenance and what needs to be maintained is easy to do. In addition, the machine offers many benefits for the customer. It is extremely compact and manoeuvrable, which makes it usable at almost all locations and very easy to transport. The mini skid steer offers a good overview of the work so that you can carry it out safely. The combination of simple operation and the "hop on hop off" principle makes it possible to make use of the machine quickly with little effort. This ensures that work on site can be carried out faster and more efficiently. These are all things that have led us to choose this mini skid steer.”

The versatile SK252D has an operating weight of 810 kg and is equipped with a 25 hp, Kubota, diesel engine. Four heavy duty wheel motors provide enough pushing and pulling power, good driving characteristics and have the advantage of being low maintenance. The suspended driver platform provides comfort and is easy to fold. This makes the machine even more compact during transport. With a tipping load of 434 kg, the SK25D presents itself as a machine that makes work easier and more efficient.

TOBROCO-GIANT builds 25,000th machine

Putting our backs into it, flexibility and intensive cooperation are core values that are synonymous with the business operations of TOBROCO-GIANT. It says a lot that precisely during this period production continued and the 25,000th machine rolled off the production line. This milestone could not have happened without these values and the involvement of employees, dealers and suppliers. Normally this would be celebrated extensively, but given the circumstances, this needs to wait till later.

The twenty-five thousandth machine is an electric G2200E X-TRA and was produced in Oisterwijk last week. It is not surprising that it concerned an electric machine, since the demand for electric wheel loaders is only increasing. The G2200E X-TRA is a special edition with a unique color scheme and was handed over to E-Den Hartog. A new company from GIANT dealer Den Hartog Bouwmaterieel, which is specially focused on the sales and maintenance of electrical machines.

Building compact loaders for 20 years
It has taken TOBROCO-GIANT 20 years to reach this milestone. After its foundation in 1996, the first wheel loader was built in 2001. There were still limited numbers in the first years, but upscaling started in 2003. The production moved from a tent in Haaren to a commercial building in Oisterwijk. The 10,000th machine was built in 2014 by expanding the number of models and adding telescopic loaders and telehandlers to the product range.

In the following years, the dealer network was expanded further to 580 dealers in 50 countries and a sales office was opened in America. This, together with the high demand for multifunctional GIANT machines, has resulted in another 15,000 machines being built in the past six years. A number that will only increase faster due to the investments made in expanding production and a new warehouse. At the end of this year, 8,000 m2 of production and the high-rise warehouse will be taken into use. This expansion gives the opportunity to build larger machines and aims to more than double production by 2025 compared to this year. The goal is to build 8,750 machines by that year.

However, the investments are not only made in the Netherlands. In Hungary, the factory is also being prepared for growth in the coming years. The frames are manufactured in Eger, after which they come to the Netherlands to be sprayed and go into production. In addition, since the start in 2013, the attachments have been produced here. The factory has been expanded with 2,000 m2 of production space and investments have been made in two welding robots, laser cutters and press brakes.

The future is electric
The G2200E and G2200E X-TRA are 2.2 ton wheel loaders and the first electrical machines to be built by TOBROCO-GIANT. Given the demand for compact electrical equipment, it is a trend that cannot be stopped anymore. Director Toine Brock: “We expect that in some time half of the number of compact machines will be electric. At the moment most machines go to countries such as the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark and Sweden. But we are seeing stricter rules on emissions in more and more countries. At some point the EU will set rules for Europe and the rest of the world will have similar rules as well.”

“Our customers specifically request electrical machines, which is why we want to have a diesel and electric version of every GIANT available in the long term. I expect that by 2025, 40 percent of our production will consist of electric (telescopic) wheel loaders. In time, customers can expect an electric skid steer and telehandler as well.”

“This year we will start developing electrical machines in the 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5 ton class. With Jungheinrich, we have found a global and reliable partner with the best knowledge when it comes to developing electrical machines. They supply the electric motors and the battery pack and the hardware and software is developed in-house. This gives us the opportunity to combine the best of both worlds and develop machines that ensure low running costs and a high working speed.”

TOBROCO-GIANT REVEALS WITH G2700 SUCCESSOR OF BEST SELLER

For years, the V452T was the best-selling model from the TOBROCO-GIANT model range. With the arrival of the G2700 models, the machine has received a worthy successor. Not only is the G2700 more powerful when it comes to engine power and traction. Due to a higher operating weight, the tipping loads have increased considerably. This makes the G2700 a modern powerhouse with compact dimension.

More power and traction
The G2700 is available in four different models. These are the G2700 HD, G2700 X-TRA HD, G2700 HD+ and G2700 X-TRA HD+. All 4 models are powered by a 3 cylinder Kubota engine with 50 hp. The engine is equipped with DOC and DPF and meets the latest EU Stage V clean engine standards. In addition, all models are powered by a hydrostatic all-wheel drive with automotive steering.

The difference between the G2700 (X-TRA) HD and G2700 (X-TRA) HD+ is reflected in the use of different planetary axels in HD version. The G2700 HD and G2700 X-TRA HD are equipped with 8 tons axles with limited slip and these provide a pulling force of 20,000 N and a maximum driving speed of 25 km/h. The G2700 HD+ and G2700 X-TRA HD+ are equipped with 12 tons axles and electrically switchable 100% lock on both axles. This powertrain provides a pulling force of 28,000 N and a maximum driving speed of 30 km/h.

Flexible in use and transportation
Whether it concerns work in the field of infrastructure, on construction sites, for gardeners, earthmoving or agricultural applications. The G2700 can be used for all sectors and can be used all year round. Using the hydraulic quick coupler, it is possible to change tools within seconds and adapt the machine to the current work.

The articulated pendulum joint gives the G2700 a small turning circle, which allows the machine to operate in confined spaces. This system also gives the wheel loaders a lot of stability because it ensures that all four wheels remain on the ground, even when working on uneven terrain. This makes it not only safe to work, but there is always sufficient traction. The fact that the machines can be transported on a trailer provides flexibility for the user. This makes the G2700 easy to use in places where the work requires it.

Tipping load up to 2,900 kg
Both the G2700 HD and the G2700 X-TRA HD have an operating weight of 2,550 kg. This gives the model with the standard lifting arm a lifting height of 2.96 meters and tipping load of 2.375 kg. The G2700 X-TRA HD has a lifting height of 2.5 meters and a tipping load of 2,850 kg. The operating weight of the G2700 HD + models is 2,600 kg and this provides a tipping load of 2,400 kg for the G2700 HD + and 2,900 kg for the G2700 X-TRA HD + respectively.

Can be put together entirely according to your wishes
The G2700 models come standard with things like a ROPS / FOPS safety roof, double-acting hydraulic function on the lift arm and a luxury suspension seat. Optionally, the machines can be equipped with items that are desirable for the work to be performed. This starts with the choice of a standard lifting arm for working at height or the X-TRA variant with a lower front frame that is specifically developed for extremely heavy work in construction and earthmoving.

Then there is a wide choice of options, such as a spacious ROPS / FOPS cabin, extra double-acting (proportional) functions, electrically switchable tandem pump or road approval. With these options, TOBROCO-GIANT ensures that every customer can configure a G2700 for maximum uptime.

WORK EFFICIENTLY WITH NEW GIANT GT5048 TELEHANDLER

For working at heights, TOBROCO-GIANT introduces the compact and versatile GT5048. TOBROCO-GIANT has taken the design of this all-rounder to the next level through the extensive knowledge gained with its predecessor, the 4548 TENDO HD. By combining this knowledge with the latest technologies, a modern 2x2 meter telehandler has been developed with a lifting height of 4.8 meters!

Latest technologies
The GT5048 is powered by a new and over 10% stronger Kubota diesel engine with 36 kW / 50 hp. To keep emissions to a minimum and to meet Stage V emission standards, it is equipped with a catalytic converter (DOC) and a particulate filter (DPF). The new engine has a larger displacement and higher torque at a lower speed. This provides more pulling power at the bottom, gives a lower noise level and also increases the driving speed to 28 km / h. The telehandler has hydrostatic all-wheel drive with automotive steering through 8-ton axles and a heavy planetary final drive.

To create more space for new components and to ensure that service points are easily accessible, a new engine box has been developed that is 2 cm wider and 4 cm longer. At the same time, the air inlet has been enlarged for optimum cooling of the engine. In addition, 2 fuel filters are now used and a heavier battery is fitted as standard. The exhaust has been repositioned and is now positioned at the top, next to the lift arm, for good drainage and to prevent dust from developing under the machine. The GT5048 can also be equipped with a reversible cooling fin to remove dirt and dust particles in the radiator.

Own software
The electrical system now comes from Bosch Rexroth and the machine is equipped with a new cable harness. The software is developed entirely in-house and ensures that all components work together optimally and deliver good performance. These innovations give dealers the opportunity to use a diagnostic tool to collect information for troubleshooting.

Compact and stable
Because of a width of 1.6 meters and a height of 1.97 meters (with cabin), the GT5048 falls into the 2x2 meter class for compact telehandlers. Thanks to the four-wheel steering, the machine has a limited turning circle (inner radius of 1,200 mm). This makes it easy to work with the machine in small spaces or indoors. Optionally, the telehandler can be equipped with two wheel steering and a dog walk so that it can easily be moved sideways along a wall.

New workplace
A completely new workplace has been developed for ease of use and user-friendliness.
For example, the steering column is taken from the last G models. This means that it is adjustable in height and depth and that all information is available on the display. This includes the oil temperature and last moment protection. The use of this steering column and a new seat has also created more space for the user.

The proportional joystick makes it easy to operate all important functions with one hand while the arm rests on an ergonomically shaped armrest. Via new control panels, functions such as lighting and wiper, but also options such as two wheel steering and dog walk, are clearly displayed and easy to operate. In addition to the steering column, rotary knobs are installed for heating and optional air conditioning.

Safety first
The GT5048 has been extensively tested for safety and stability by an independent body and shows that the telehandler meets the international EN ISO 12100 and EN 1459 standards. EN ISO 12100 is the international standard for the safety of machines (general) and EN 1459 is a European standard for the safety and stability of rough terrain telehandlers.

In addition, the safety roof and the cabin are ISO certified in the field of ROPS / FOPS security. The bonnet has been redesigned for greater right-hand visibility and a curved windshield and narrow pillars provide good all-round visibility. For extra protection, the front window can even be equipped with a protective grille.

GIANT WHEEL LOADERS HELP BUILD FORMULA 1 CIRCUIT IN ZANDVOORT

After 35 years, Formula 1 returns to Circuit Zandvoort for the F1 Dutch Grand Prix. Before the first training sessions start in early May, the circuit must be thoroughly renovated. In November last year, a start was made on replacing and widening the current circuit. In addition, a new paddock area and medical center will be released. The infrastructure is also being adjusted to steer the visit of 200,000 fans in the right direction.

To make the 4.3 kilometer circuit challenging, various new curves are being laid. Schuurman Bestrating BV uses two GIANT’s; a V452T X-TRA HD and D332SWT X-TRA for the installation of line gutters and curb stones. For owner Michael Schuurman, this is a special assignment as he is regularly found with his own racing car at Circuit Zandvoort.

Working with confidence
Schuurman Bestrating BV has been around for 16 years and provides all types of paving and small sewerage work. The 20-man team mainly works for main contractors and installs pavements in backyards as well as pavements for a complete residential area. “Because we work with a fixed group of subcontractors, we have built up a lot of trust with main contractors and municipalities. A main contractor or municipality like to know who they are working with so that they can be sure that the work will be carried out properly."

“In 2010 we decided to switch to GIANT and the first D332SWT X-TRA was purchased from Den Hartog Bouwmachines. This choice was made because we had previously rented a GIANT and it was excellent. In particular, the powerful engine and more lifting power were important to us. Our machinery now comprises 6 GIANTs between 1,100 and 3,800 kg (D254SW, 2x D332SWT X-TRA, 2x V452T X-TRA HD and V6004T X-TRA). We are also expecting our third V452T X-TRA HD this month as an extension of our equipment.”

Special and accurate project
“When we received the application from VolkerWessels, we registered for this project. For me as a racing driver in the Dutch National Racing Team competition, very special to hear that we had accepted the work and to be able to mean something when building up the new circuit. The work on Circuit Zandvoort consists of installing the line gutter along and behind the curb stones at various bends such as the Tarzan bend and Hugenholtz bend. We also install the mortar and reinforcement and of course the curb stones. All this must be done to the millimeter."

“We use the V452 X-TRA HD for supplying the spoil and curb stones, and both D332SWT X-TRA and V452T X-TRA HD are used for positioning. In total, we put in 2 shifts of 2 men about 1000 meters of new curb stones which are placed in a slope and 150 meters in line gutter. When we are finished, the new layer of asphalt can be applied and after the renovation, the curb stones will get a striking color."

The renovation of Circuit Zandvoort will be finished at the end of February and the circuit can be put back into use. Until that time there are mainly asphalt machines and wheel loaders on the track.

DISCOVER THE NEW G1500 WHEEL LOADERS

The new compact loaders from TOBROCO-GIANT offers performance, outstanding versatility and reduced running costs and fuel consumption. With the G1500 (X-TRA) TOBROCO-GIANT introduces two articulated loaders with individual wheel motors for stability, maneuverability and productivity.

Maximum grip with 4 wheel motors
The new G1500 is powered by a powerful 26 hp diesel engine, without DOC and DPF, which meets the latest, EU Stage V, emission standards. To guarantee performance and comfort, TOBROCO-GIANT has equipped the machine with 4, heavy-duty, wheel motors and an electrically switchable differential lock. This power train ensures maximum grip, a lot of pulling force and smooth movement in every situation against reduced running costs and less fuel consumption.

Despite its compact design and limited weight the standard G1500 has a tipping load of 1,040 kg and lifting height of 2.56 m. The G1500 X-TRA has a lifting height of 2.07 m and tipping load of 1,500 kg! The standard with of 89 cm for the G1500 and 110 cm for the G1500 X-TRA makes it possible to work inside, on small paths or cramped building sights.

While working with heavy loads the machine has still an extraordinary stability against overturning. This is due to the four-wheel engines, which take the balance point of the machine to a very low level. For extra productivity it is possible to equip the machines with the patented Stabilo System or boom suspension. Both options provide extra safety and comfort because unevenness’s are absorbed without any compromise to the performance.

Safety and comfort
The machines are standard equipped with a safety roof and this can optionally be changed to a foldable safety roof or to a full-option cabin. All roofs and cabins have been extensively tested on safety by an independent authority and are internationally ROPS/FOPS certified. All-round visibility gives the operator an excellent view on his work and allows safe and precise operation.

With this machine the driver works from the most comfortable seat on the job site – featuring a spacious operator environment combined with the smooth predictable control instruments, the ergonomic, low-effort joystick and tilt and telescope steering column guarantee safe and efficient working conditions.

„THIS WHEEL LOADER AND I GREW A TEAM VERY QUICKLY“

It’s the GIANT V452T X-TRA, this quote refers to. And the man, who is making it, is René Keller, owner of the Keller Endingen Garten- & Tiefbau GmbH. Never before he had decided so quickly to buy machine, he adds. The relation of its own weight compared to its lifting capacity, the small width and the easy transportation of the GIANT were perfect from the beginning.

The GIANT V452T X-TRA offers all the characteristics that are needed to fulfill all transportation of material much more efficient and with a minimum of manual work. For example, the GIANT is moving pallets of composite stone directly to the place where they are needed – because it is narrow and versatile and can also use smaller paths. No doubt it also has enough lifting capacity for those tasks.

Compact, powerful and not bulky at all
The GIANTS small weight and the Terra-wheels preserve the underground and avoid damages to the soil that often occur with crawler-mounted vehicles like a dumper. The GIANT also can take over its transportation tasks, so that one machine on the building site can be saved. The wheel loader is also able to scatter different materials. Because of the limited carrying capacity of underground garage roofs these characteristics offer a lot of advantages. In addition it’s very easy to transport the GIANT on a trailer, so it can be easily taken from one building site to the other with great flexibility.

Perfect characteristics in horticulture
The easy transport makes the GIANT very desirable. Whenever it comes to material handling, everybody wants to have it to unload trucks or to move sidewalk flagstones exactly where they are needed. There the flagstones are taken from the pallet and directly put at the right point. René Keller likes that way of much quicker and more efficient work. The GIANT also reduces manual work of his team of eight persons. All of them really like the new machine after having used it. René Keller is also very satisfied with the service and support of his regional GIANT dealer. To be always ready for action with his machinery, Keller needs a competent garage. For the GIANT V452T-X-TRA HD it wasn’t needed yet, the wheel loader is working without any trouble and is absolutely reliable.

With the introduction of these new models, the complete range from TOBROCO-GIANT is compliant with the Stage V emission regulations. In addition, the electric G2200E shows what customers can expect from TOBROCO-GIANT when it comes to the future of zero-emission models.

In hall 6, on a 400 m² stand (B45) TOBROCO-GIANT will present a wide range of new machines for the worldwide market. The wheel loaders, telescopic loaders, telehandler and skidsteer show the investment that TOBROCO-GIANT has made in the development of technologically advanced machines t. In total 13 models will be shown, along with a wide range of attachments to carry out work in an efficient and productive way.

First electric loader
In response to the increasing demand for zero-emission, TOBROCO-GIANT is introducing its first electric wheel loader in the 2.2 tonnes class. The G2200E in the standard-version is equipped with a 250 Ah, 48V lithium-ion battery that fills the space traditionally used for the engine. With two separate electric motors, 6.5 kW to drive the machine and 11.5 kW for the hydraulics, there is always enough power to perform tasks precisely. Furthermore, the machine regenerates energy when it rolls out or drives downhill. With its compact design the electric wheel loader is ideal for indoor applications and work near animals.

Compact powerhouses; G1500, G2200HD+ and G2500 HD
At the same time as the new electric loader TOBROCO-GIANT is showcasing three new articulated loaders. With the G4500 range TOBROCO-GIANT launched last year the first models that are compliant with the upcoming EU Stage V clean engine standards. The 1500, G2200 HD+ and G2500HD are the next machines in line to replace previous generation models in the range between 1,500 and 2,500 kg.

The G2200 HD+ is the top model of the G2200 series and equipped with a Stage V- engine without DOC and DPF system. This means that these models are developed in such a way that they do not have to regenerate. The articulated loader is not only a Heavy -Duty- version, but is also equipped with 8 ton- axles and a planetary final drive. As a result, power is divided on all wheels in the best possible way for more traction and the machine is given a pulling force of 23,000 N. With a lifting height of over 2.8 meters and tipping load of 1,400 kg the G2200 HD+ is well suited for a wide variety of tasks.

The G2500 HD with an operating weight of 2.400 kg operates in a higher class . The articulated loader is equipped with a 4 -cylinder- Kubota- engine without DOC and DPF and has hydrostatic 4 -wheel-drive, 2 gears and 8 ton planetary axles. Together with the limited slip on both axles, this drive ensures that the wheel loader has sufficient traction (18,000 N) and moves smoothly for precise operation.

The compact design of the G2500 HD makes it possible to work in places with limited space. A limited height of 232 cm also offers the possibility to carry out work indoors. Optionally, the loader can be equipped with a ROPS / FOPS- folding safety roof. This reduces the machine height of 34 cm. The G2500 HD has a lifting height of 2.96 meters and tipping load of 2,050 kg.

New G3500 range
Developed as powerful and reliable machines, the G3500 models are ready to perform in many sectors. Users hereby become a comfortable and safe working environment provided with good visibility for efficient execution of their work. TOBROCO-GIANT will show the standard G3500 and telescopic version, G3500 TELE. The G3500 models are driven by a 66 hp diesel engine in combination with hydrostatic 4-wheel drive with automotive steering and 100% switchable lock on both 14-tonne axles.

The G3500 has a service weight of 3,800 kg and is equipped with a lifting arm with Z-kinematics to ensure a high breakout force and excellent loading heights. The result is a tipping load of 2,300 kg and a lifting height of almost 3,3 meters. With a lifting height of over 4.3 meters, the G3500 TELE is perfect for performing jobs at great height. The compact dimensions ensure that both machines can operate in small spaces and can even be used indoors.

New GT5048 telehandler
Later this year the successful 4548 TENDO HD will be replaced with the new GT5048. At the Agritechnica show TOBROCO-GIANT will reveal the new GT5048. TOBROCO-GIANT has taken the concept of this jack-of-all-trades to a new level and used the extensive knowledge of the TENDO and newest technologies to develop this modern telehandler in the 2x2 meter class. That results in the compact telehandler being only 1.91 meters high and 1.65 meters wide.

The GT5048 is powered by a 36kW/50 HP -Kubota,- diesel engine with catalytic converter (DOC) and soot filter (DPF) that meet the latest EU Stage V clean engine standards. Because of its compactness, four-wheel steering and lifting height of 4.8 meters the GT5048 is perfect to maneuver in tight spaces while lifting materials.

Trusted models
Along with the new models TOBROCO-GIANT is exhibiting various machines that have proven themselves in many industries. Starting with the SK252D skid steer loader. This all-rounder is not only about lifting and transporting food, fertilizers or tools. Due to its compact sizes, the skid steer can reach places where other machines cannot come. This makes the machine extremely suitable for mucking out stables and corridors and for supplying straw or hay.

The G5000 and G5000 TELE will be the largest models on the stand. Both machines are equipped with a 75 hp diesel engine, hydrostatic 4-wheel drive with automotive control and 100% switchable lock on both 16-tons axles. The travel speed can optionally be increased from 20 km/h to 35 km/h. This option provides extra pulling force as well because of the two-speed gearbox. With the G5000 TOBROCO-GIANT will introduce a newly developed cabin for this range that has a modern climate system and creates a comfortable and silent working environment.

GIANT WHEEL LOADER INDISPENSABLE FOR FIRST FLOATING FARM IN THE WORLD

The first floating farm in the world has been realized in the port of Rotterdam. Under the name "Floating Farm" a self-sufficient and circular farm has been built with room for 40 cows. For farmer Albert Boersen, his GIANT D337T is indispensable for carrying out daily work due to its versatility and compactness.

Dairy production in urban areas.
The idea of a floating farm was created by various factors. The population is increasingly concentrated in and around large cities, the rapidly growing world population makes land scarcer and there are large distances between dairy production and dairy users. With a floating farm in the city, Floating Farm produces food where people live. The farm works as self-sufficient and circular as possible. For example, floating solar panels provide the energy, rainwater is collected and filtered and food for the cows largely comes from the city. The menu for the cows consists of beer broth, bran, potato scraps and grass from sports fields and golf courses from the city.

The milk is processed into various dairy products and is not only for sale at Floating Farm, but also at branches of a supermarket and a catering wholesaler. The dry part of the manure is sold to sports fields where the grass comes from and people with an allotment garden or balcony.

Compact in weight and size
"Because of the gangway and limited space on the farm, we were looking for a machine with a low weight and compact dimensions," explains farmer Albert. “The walkway can handle 3.5 tonnes and the D337T (2,100 kg operating weight) with attachment and load stay below that weight. The pendulum joint and the limited width ensure that the wheel loader has a short turning circle and we can handle things well. This is because there is less space on this farm than on a traditional farm."

“Can't go a day without it”
“With the D337T we have several GIANT attachments so can do all the work that needs to be done with one machine. We have a pelican bucket, volume bucket, bale clamp, pallet forks and MVB800 divide bucket. We use the articulated loader every day for a few hours and we cannot go a day without it. For example, the manure is collected by a robot and separated on the middle floor. The thick fraction is collected in the MVB800 and I bed the cubicles three times a day. In this way a thin layer is spread so that it dries well.”

“We use the GIANT for much more than you would initially think. Not only for standard jobs such as supplying the feeding machine with hay bales from the pier. But also to deliver the feed for the cows, bring dairy ashore and unload trucks. On the wish list are a rotary mower and meadow drag for maintaining the piece of land where the cows can graze outside.”

EIGHT NEW COMPACT POWERHOUSES; THE G2200 AND G2500 MODELS

With the arrival of the G2200 and G2500 models, TOBROCO-GIANT is introducing six new 2.2 ton articulated loaders and two 2.5 ton machines in one go. The compact wheel loaders are equipped with engines that meet Stage V emission regulations and don't have a DOC and DPF. This means that the machines don't need to regenerate. For excellent loading heights a machine with standard front frame is available and with an X-TRA frame for heavy work within the construction and earth moving.

Wide selection of G2200 models
Depending on customer wishes and activities, it is possible to choose between 6 different models. Besides the standard G2200, a G2200 HD and G2200 HD PLUS can be chosen. These three models are also available as an X-TRA model for a higher tipping load.

All models are powered by a 3-cylinder, Kubota engine in combination with a hydrostatic 4-wheel drive with automotive steering. The difference between the models is the use of different axles. For example, the G2200 (X-TRA) is equipped with 6-tonne axles and these provide a pulling force of 12,600 N. The G2200 (X-TRA) HD has the same 6-tonne axles, but with a 2 speed transmission. This results in a higher speed and pulling force (14,300 N). The G2200 (X-TRA) HD PLUS is the top model of the G2200 series. The articulated loader is not only a Heavy Duty version, but is also equipped with 8 ton axles with planetary final drive. As a result, power is divided over all wheels in the best possible way for more traction and a gives the machine pulling force of 23,000 N.

The models with a standard frame can reach a height of over 2.8 meters with a tipping load of 1,400 kg. The X-TRA frame ensures an increased tipping load of 2,054 kg and a lifting height of 2.45 meters.

Powerful performance with G2500 (X-TRA) HD
The G2500 (X-TRA) HD operates in a higher class with an operating weight of 2.400 kg. Both articulated loader are equipped with a 4 cylinder, Kubota engine without DOC and DPF. The machines have an hydrostatic 4 wheel drive, 2 gears and 8 ton planetary axles. Together with the limited slip on both axles, this drive ensures that the wheel loader has sufficient traction (18,000 N) and moves smoothly for precise operation.

The compact design of the G2500 makes it possible to work in places with limited space. The limited height of 232 cm also offers the possibility to carry out work indoors. Optionally, the models can be equipped with a ROPS / FOPS, folding safety roof. This reduces the machine height with another 34 cm. The G2500 HD has a lifting height of 2.96 meters and tipping load of 2,050 kg. The X-TRA model has a lifting height of 2.49 meters and a tipping load of
2,600 kg.

FIRST ELECTRIC LOADERS FROM TOBROCO-GIANT

At Bauma TOBROCO-GIANT will present its first fully electric loaders - the G2200E and G2200E X-TRA. The G2200E models combine the best of both worlds with the advantages of an articulated loader and near-silent operation and zero emissions. Making the compact loaders ideal for indoor applications or construction sites in urban areas.

Ready for the future
In mid-2016, a new Research & Development Centre was opened at the factory of TOBROCO-GIANT to develop and build new and innovative products. Furthermore, the engineering department has expanded considerably so that all the knowledge is in-house to focus on electrically driven machines. The G2200E represents the future of fully electric GIANT loaders and are the first in response to the increasing demand for zero-emission.

Outstanding performance
G2200E loaders are standard equipped with a 48V lithium-ion battery that fills the space traditionally used for the engine. With two separate electric motors, 6.5 kW to drive the machine and 11.5 kW for the hydraulics, there is always enough power to perform tasks precisely. With a lifting height of 2.85 meter and capacity of 1,650 kg the G2200E is perfect to use when height is important. The G2200E X-TRA has a lifting capacity of 2,200 kg, lifting height of 2.45 meter and is specifically developed for extremely heavy work and work within construction and earthmoving.

Customers have the possibility to choose the battery that is suitable for their needs and the best solution for their range of application. TOBROCO-GIANT offers four lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 6,4 kWh (125Ah), 12,3 kWh (240 Ah), 18,4 kWh (360 Ah) or 24,6 kWh (480 Ah). Depending on their choice one battery charge is sufficient to work under normal conditions for 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours. So there is more than enough energy to work the entire day.

Charging solutions for work
The lithium-ion batteries from TOBROCO-GIANT score over traditional lead-acid batteries with their performance, fast charging times and zero maintenance. Furthermore, the lithium-ion batteries last up to three times longer than conventional batteries. The battery is self-protected by its own intelligent battery management system and can be charged whenever, without affecting the battery lifetime. Making it a reliable solution for the Rental market. TOBROCO-GIANT offers various solutions for charging on a job site or on the go. The electric GIANT’s can be equipped with an on-board charger of 40A or 60A which uses a standard 230V power supply so they can be charged anywhere.

To offer maximum flexibility customers can choose for an external charger at their jobsite. The chargers are available in the range from 40A-300A, making it possible to charge a battery system for 50% within 30 minutes. After the light and compact chargers are fastened in place or installed, they can be placed in operation immediately.

Reduced operating and maintenance costs
Despite a higher investment for an G2200E (X-TRA), customers will benefit from reduced operating costs and less maintenance during the lifecycle of their machine. There is no need to store diesel at the jobsite and with every charge a customer will save money. The G2200E models require lower maintenance as they have fewer moving parts and engine filters and fluids don’t need to be replaced. Longer service intervals mean fewer lost hours from maintenance downtime.

The customer's wishes
G2200E machines can be configured according to the customers’ wishes. Starting with the selection for a standard or X-TRA model. Then there is a choice for three lithium-ion batteries. Also, with regards to the options there are plenty of possibilities. Consider the choices for an, EU certified, cabin, safety roof or foldable safety roof, heating and up to 3 double-acting functions at the front. This gives customers the opportunity to assemble the machine precisely for the work that needs to be done and for a competitive price.

WORKING HARD ON AN INSIDE DEMOLITION

Skidsteer, this small rigid-framed machine is showing itself as the high-powered mechanical support of the Hagedorn company during the inside demolition of the ten-story Post Office building in Hamburg.

“It is very easy to remove the walls built of sheetrock when using the small loader”, says Manfred Lückemeyer, general foreman of demolition specialist Hagedorn in Gütersloh, whilst recounting his first experiences using two SK201D Skidsteers. He explains the extensive task his team had to manage: There were 10 floors of the old post office building containing 3.000 square metres each. All the walls were made of lightweight construction, including their metal elevation. They had to be removed, packed, then sent down by elevators and handed over to the disposal company. Fulfilling this task, the two machines shared the work between them: Whilst one skid was using the gripper to disassemble the walls quickly one after the other, the other is carrying the extracted material to the elevators on the far end of the building.

The workers did not take long to get used to these machines, and soon were taking advantage of their quickness and manoeuvrability. The main task of the machines is to replace the manual labour. Without the machines, previously all demolition work of this kind had to be done by hand with tools like hammer, nail puller and electrical handsaws, which took far more time than the actual way of using the Skidsteer loaders: Without the machine it takes 6 to 7 workers out of a team of 20 just to cut and loosen up the materials. Now a Skidsteer and just one person is needed for that, whilst all the other employees can work on the packing and taking away of the material. Naturally, this way the whole team is now much faster and the whole demolition work is now completed much faster and is more economical.

Hunderd articulated loaders from TOBROCO-GIANT for Boels Rental

One of the most renowned rental companies in Europe is investing in 100 new GIANT machines of the V452T X-TRA type.

During Bauma the key to the first machine was handed over by director / owner Toine Brock to Volker Blome, Manager Product Development at Boels Rental.

From mid-April, the machines will be delivered in phases during 2019. The compact wheel loaders are then available at locations in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. “Existing customers specifically asked for a GIANT machine because of the speed when it comes to lifting and driving. In addition, the easy operation is experienced as very pleasant, "says Matti Moenen, Manager Purchasing at Boels Rental. “We adjust our rental range to the wishes and needs of our customers. We were already familiar with TOBROCO-GIANT, but contacts have intensified from 2017. Then the choice was made quickly. Not only because of the reliability and low maintenance costs, but also because of the extensive network of GIANT dealers. This ensures that regional service can be provided "

Boels Rental has specifically chosen the X-TRA variant of the V452T. Due to the lower front frame, the center of gravity of the load relative to the machine remains low on the ground and this results in a tipping load of 2,600 kg. Thanks to the lowered front frame, the user also has a good view of the work and can therefore work accurately and safely. These advantages make the machines extremely suitable for work in (road) construction, demolition and earthworks. A 45 hp diesel engine from Kubota in combination with the hydrostatic 4 wheel drive with automotive steering and limited lock on both, 8 tonne axles always ensures sufficient grip, lots of pulling power and smooth movement.

TOBROCO-GIANT shows world premieres during first INTERMAT

This year, TOBROCO-GIANT will participate for the first time in this international exhibition for construction and infrastructure, which takes place in Paris from April 23rd to April 28th  Visitors can meet two world premieres in hall 5B at booth M044. First, there is a 25 hp version of the new skidsteer loaders, the SK252D. The second premiere is even more impressive, because it is a new model in a new segment for TOBROCO-GIANT. The G4500 X-TRA, a wheel loader in the 4.5-ton class with low front frame for extra lifting capacity.

Compact design, BIG in performance
This slogan applies more than ever to the new skidsteer loaders. Due to the compact sizes, the skidsteer can reach places where other machines cannot come. Depending on the tyres the machines can have a width between 76 (!) and 110 centimetres. Another benefit is the possibility to changes tyres on a jobsite because of the application of new flanges. The SK252D has a limited service weight of 810 kg and can therefore be used inside a building to break, demolish and remove materials.

By applying a larger hydraulic pump the power is increased to 35 L/min and 180 bar. Larger wheel motors provide better driving characteristics and more pushing and pulling power. Combined with a tipping load of 434 kg this ensures that the skidsteer can carry out work safely and efficiently.

Entering a new segment with G4500 X-TRA
With the arrival of the G4500 X-TRA, the G4500 series is complete, after the G4500 and G4500 TELE were introduced in November last year. This X-TRA model is specifically designed to perform heavy work in the construction and earthmoving business. Depending on the options a G4500 X-TRA has an operating weight between 4,400 and 5,200 kg. Making the G4500 range the first machines in the 4.5-ton class.

The machine can be completely configured according to the wishes of customers. For example, there is a choice of two different Kubota diesel engines; one with 36 kW / 50 hp and a version with 54 kW / 74 hp. Both are equipped with a catalytic converter (DOC) and particulate filter (DPF) and comply with the latest Stage V standards. The hydrostatic 4-wheel drive with automotive steering and 100% switchable lock on both 16- tons- axles always ensure sufficient grip, a lot of pulling power and smooth movement. With a tipping load between 3,500 and 5,000 kg the G4500 X-TRA is extremely popular for construction works and ground care.

Other machines that are on display on the TOBROCO stand are the D254SW TELE, V452T X-TRA HD and 4548 TENDO HD. These machines are well known for their performance, high efficiency and reliability. Strengths that are of high importance when it comes to construction, demolition and excavation work.

The all-rounder in daily business; the new GIANT skid steers

Whether it concerns gardening, construction & demolition, farmers,  poultry farms, municipalities or anyone who maintains roads and paths: a skid steer loader cleans, sweeps and demolishes!

Nowadays work has to be carried out as efficiently as possible, regardless of the sector, and deadlines are widely represented. The increasing labour shortage in many industries is intensifying this pressure. At the same time, everyone has an obligation to ensure that people have a safe and comfortable workplace.

By applying new innovations and the availability of a large number of attachments, the new skidsteer presents itself as a multifunctional all-rounder that helps to make work easier and more efficient.=

New innovations
The frame is largely the same and the line-up of engines is unchanged well. Most of the innovations have been applied to the enclosed mechanics of the machine such as a new valve block providing  extra user-friendliness and the ability to perform tasks precisely. Furthermore, the skid steer loaders are equipped with a larger hydraulic pump for more power and higher yield.

Larger wheel motors provide more push and pull, better driving characteristics and are also low maintenance. In addition, it is now also possible to easily change tyres. Depending on the work, a large number of different tyres can be selected. These can even be changed on location and give the machine a width between 76 (!) And 110 centimetres.

The new operator platform is suspended and easy to fold. This gives the driver more comfort and ensures that the machines are compact to transport. Optionally, the skids can be equipped with a soft brake. With this system, the skidsteer slows gradually after releasing the steering levers.

Many options
In addition to this braking system, various options are available that contribute to the efficient and safe execution of work. For example, by applying a hydraulic quick change. Changing tools can then be done easily and quickly without having to move away from the machine. For working with hydraulically driven tools (rotary mower, sweeper, hydraulic hammer, etc.) the machines can be equipped with a double gear pump and multiple double-acting functions are possible.

For work inside buildings or around animals, the two diesel variants can be equipped with an integrated diesel particulate filter. This filter reduces emissions with more than 90%, which benefits the working climate. In addition, the skids can be equipped with a cyclone filter so that the air filter will pollute less quickly and last longer.

Countless fields of application
This compact powerhouse is not just about lifting sand, concrete or bags of cement on a construction site. The skid steer does its job in all sectors! For gardeners by transporting soil, plants or tiles. At recycling companies, the skid steer keeps the floors under conveyor belts clean. Due to its compact sizes, the skid steer can reach locations where other machines won’t fit.

In case of farmers, riding schools and poultry farms, the machine is suitable for mucking out stables and corridors and for supplying straw, food or hay.

For municipalities, the machine is a valuable tool for maintaining, among others, narrow paths and surfaces. With tools such as a weed brush, sweeper or snow blade, the skid replaces a number of other machines. The smallest GIANT has also proven its worth in construction and demolition. Not only by the removal and transport of various loads, but also for demolition work by the use of a hydraulic hammer. Because of its low weight it is possible to use the machine inside a building to break and demolish.

EXPANSION TOBROCO-GIANT IN OISTERWIJK

Tobroco-Giant has grown rapidly in recent years. Due to the continuous demand for loaders, telehandlers and skid steers as well as the introduction of new models, the demand has exceeded GIANTs expectations.  For the coming years the expectations are that the demand will increase even further and therefore Tobroco-Giant will expand its current production facility in Oisterwijk.

First, Research & Development and the sales department move to a new and modern location in Oisterwijk. The newly built property will accommodate all the technical gadgets that are necessary to develop new and innovative products. Tobroco-Giant will invest in cleaner stage V diesel engines and electrically powered machines in the coming years. The current location where R & D and sales are located will be added to the production site, which will result in more capacity.

Increased production area
The expansion of production at the current location will take place in different stages. In total, the production facility will be increased with 8,000 m2 and continues to be divided over two storeys to make optimal use of the available space. There will be the new production lines that run LEAN and also the "paperless" production will be implemented even further. In addition, more pre-assembly will take place and will be centralised . This improves lead times and components can be transported faster to the production lines. Automation is further balanced with various suppliers. Furthermore, Tobroco-Giant continues to invest in welding techniques such as the 2 newly installed welding robots, bending machines and spindle machines. This will help to increase production and the optimise the quality.

Smart storage and internal distribution
For the storage of parts, production and service, a high-rise warehouse of 16 meters high will be built. The warehouse will be driven completely automatically. Incoming goods for the warehouse will be received via several new loading docks. This ensures that the parts and finished products will not cross each other anymore. Roller banks are used to transport the incoming goods to the temporary storage location where various (quality) checks take place. Some of the goods then go directly to production and a part is stored in the warehouse. Just in time delivery and maintaining high quality are the "key words".

In order to ensure an efficient supply of parts, there has already been an investment in a new automation system. A computer system controls the entire logistics process and ensures that the right quantities are picked up from the warehouse. Electric trolleys will make various rounds on a daily basis and ensure that everything will be in the right place. During the building process the possibility for adding conveyor belts at a later stage will be taken into account.

TOBROCO-GIANT will reveal two machines from a complete new range during AgriTechnica. At stand A40 in hall 6, the G4500 and G4500 TELE will make their exclusive debut during the world’s largest trade fair for agricultural machinery. These two models are the only two machines from a complete new range that will exist of nine models. The compact and manoeuvrable G4500 machines will become the standard for productivity, comfort and reliability. From the middle of 2018 the first machines will be delivered to customers in Europe.

Complete new segment
Together with the introduction of these models there will be new model names introduced as well. The letter G stands for GIANT and 4500 stands for 4,500 kg; the 4.5 tonnes class. A segment where TOBROCO-GIANT was not yet active until now. The weight of the G4500 starts at 4,200 kg for the basic version and, depending on the options, can reach up to 4,800 kg. With the arrival of these machines, TOBROCO-GIANT offers a complete portfolio of machines weighing between 750kg (SK211G) and 6,000 kg (V761T TELE).

Ready for the future
In mid-2016, a new Research & Development Centre was opened at the factory of TOBROCO-GIANT to develop and build new machines and options. Furthermore, the engineering department has expanded considerably so that all the knowledge is in-house to develop new machines. The G4500 series is the first product of these investments and gives a glimpse into the future of new GIANT machines.

BIG in performance
Like all GIANT machines, the G4500 models will distinguish themselves by a high tipping load compared to their own weight. Depending on the options, the G4500 with Z-bar has a tipping load between 3,500 and 4,000 kg (measured with hinge point in lower position). For extremely heavy work there is the G4500 X-TRA. It has a lower front frame and can lift even more weight due to its low centre of gravity. Because of these features, the X-TRA models have become extremely popular for construction workers and ground care. A G4500 X-TRA has a tipping load between 3,500kg and 5,000 kg (measured with hinge point in lower position).

There are three different Kubota diesel engines available for the G4500 machines. First of all, a 36 kW / 50 hp version, which is already available in various current models. In addition, two new engines are available, a 46 kW / 66 hp variant and a 54 kW / 74 hp version. Both are equipped with a catalytic converter (DOC) and soot filter (DPF) and meet the latest, Stage V ready, clean engine standards.

The machines are developed with productivity as one of the spearheads. Whether transporting large quantities of loads or rough-working activities, the hydrostatic 4-wheel drive with automotive control (Rexroth) and 100% switchable lock on both, 16-tons, axles always provides enough grip, a lot of pulling force a smooth movement. Optionally, the driving speed can be increased to 35 km/h, which improves productivity even more.

In addition, various hydraulic systems are available. The basic machine will be equipped with a direct-driven hydraulic system on the joystick, which can be extended to a servo-controlled version. A high flow version will also be available and can deliver 120 L/min to the chosen attachment. In this way, we can meet the wish of every customer.

Safety and comfort
A combination of safety and comfort ensures that the operator can carry out his work in a responsible manner. The machines are standard equipped with a safety roof and this can optionally be extended to a, silent, full-option cabin. The G4500 machines have been extensively tested on safety by an independent authority and are internationally ROPS/FOPS certified. All-round visibility gives the operator an excellent view on his work and allows safe and precise operation.

A comfortable working environment has been created in the cabin so long working days are no problem. The steering column is adjustable and all necessary information can easily be read from a central display. While using the joystick, the operator can rest his arm on ergonomically shaped armrest. All key functions are close to the joystick so that they can be easily operated.

The articulated pendulum joint gives the G4500 machines extreme manoeuvrability, accuracy and off-road mobility. Optionally, it is possible to equip the machines with the patented Stabilo System or boom suspension. Both options provide extra safety and comfort because unevenness’s are absorbed without any compromise to the performance.

Solid investment
GIANT machines are a solid investment because of their reliability and high productivity. Only the best components have been chosen and tested extensively before they were applied to the G4500 series. TOBROCO-GIANT works closely with quality suppliers like Bosch Rexroth, Comer, Kubota and Hydac during the development of new machines.

Performing maintenance to the machines is easy because the service points are easy to reach.
By opening the hood, there is convenient access to the various filters, they can be cleaned or replaced quickly. Information about oil temperature, regeneration, power modes, etc., can be read from the dashboard so that you can always see these important data during work.

The customer's wishes
G4500 machines can be configured according to the customers wishes. Starting with the selection for Z-bar, X-TRA or TELE model. Then there is a choice of a 50 hp, 66 hp or 74 hp diesel engine that is Stage V ready. Also with regard to the options there are plenty of possibilities.  Consider the choices for a cabin or safety roof, increased driving speed, air conditioning, additional counterweight and up to 5 double-acting hydraulic functions at the front. This gives customers the opportunity to assemble the machine precisely for the work that needs to be done and for a competitive price.

PROPORTIONAL AND ECONOMICAL BEDDING: GIANT ZV350

TOBROCO-GIANT has developed a spreader bucket for sawdust which is perfect for bedding cow cubicles in an efficient and economical way. When the ZV350 (ISO content of 370 litre) is equipped with the optional side brush and manure scraper it is possible to bed and brush 40 cubicles per minute and with one pass.

After putting the spreader bucket into practice it was possible to bed 100 cubicles with only 100 litres of sawdust. This will not only save you 50% of sawdust but also economical savings of thousands of Euro’s per year. Furthermore the health of the cows will improve because the racks, cubicles borders and mats are clean after a pass. Clean cubicles decreases the change for udder disease and problems with claws.

Save time
With the use of the ZV350 manual labour will belong to the past and valuable time will be saved. The spreader bucket is equipped with a Hardox blade and wear strip so bedding materials can be self-loaded. Like every attachment from TOBROCO-GIANT the bucket can be attached and detached within seconds because of its hydraulic attachment system. The supports make sure that the bucket can be stored safe and stable and can even be loaded before it is attached to the machine.

Versatile

The dosage of the ZV350 can be controlled accurately from fully closed to fully opened. This makes the spreader bucket not only suitable for sawdust but also for flax litter and grinded rapeseed or wheat flour. By-products can be mixed easily because of the screwed mixer blades and dose plate.

Options for expansion
The standard ZV350 can be expanded with a manure scraper and/or side brush. When the bucket is equipped with the manure scraper then the combination will clean the racks during the bedding process. The scrapper is made from Erlan rubber and fitted with a Hardox blade on the side to scrape the edge of the cubicles as well.

To keep the cubicles clean it is also possible to equip the spreader bucket with a hydraulic side brush (75 cm in diameter). The brush will turn into the cubicle so it is possible to start cleaning from the beginning and over the entire length. In the standard setting the brush will reach till 75 cm inside the cubicles but the height and length are adjustable. In folded position the side brush has the same width as the bucket so it is even possible to manoeuvre in tight spaces. Furthermore it is possible to self-load the ZV350 even when the brush is folded in.

Technical information:

Content: 370 litre
Weight: 285 kg (410 kg including scraper and side brush)
Width:  1300 mm (1570 mm including scraper and side brush)
Required: 3rd function for hydro motors of bucket and side brush
4th function for folding the side brush in and out
Optional:  Level meter for even wear of the scraper
  Pro-inching

Advantages
Ergonomic: no more hard manual labour
Efficient: bedding and cleaningof 40 cubicles per minute in one pass
Economical: saving of sawdust up to 50%. 100 litre for 100 cubicles can be achieved easily. This will result in savings of €2400,- per year
(365 x €6.5 - €7 per bale of 90 litres) at 100 cubicles.
Hygienic: racks, edges of the cubicles and mats are clean after every pass.
Clean cows means less problems with claws and udder disease.

TOBROCO Machines becomes TOBROCO-GIANT

TOBROCO Machines has grown rapidly in recent years and the number of GIANT machines produced is growing just as fast. We produced and delivered the 15,000th machine in February this year. Also, the international dealer network is expanding and our machines are available in more than 40 countries worldwide.

Now that TOBROCO Machines is becoming a global player on the market, there was the need for an international brand name. TOBROCO-GIANT indicates the relationship between the manufacturer (TOBROCO Machines) and products (GIANT machinery). Furthermore, the brand name is unique and protected worldwide.

New logo
The new brand name has necessitated a change in the logo. The GIANT logo, as shown on the machines, has been added “BY TOBROCO”. In addition, an emblem has been developed in which the characteristic GIANT wheel loader is displayed. Both elements form the new TOBROCO-GIANT logo and will be implemented in all expressions. This includes printing, websites, merchandising, ads and all other media.

The characteristic ant will disappear from the logo, but will remain on the machines and various other expressions. Print and advertisements are advertised with the slogan: Compact design, BIG in performance. This clarifies the relationship between the machines and the ant. GIANT stands for Gigantic ANT because these working animals are able to carry anywhere from 10 to 50 times their body weight.

Ready for the future
With the new brand name and the new logo, there is uniformity in the corporate style. In addition, TOBROCO-GIANT can grow internationally as a brand and raise awareness for its machines.

TOBROCO-GIANT shows X-TRA models and skidsteer at first IRE

TOBROCO-GIANT will participate at the International Rental Exhibition for the first time. Especially for rental companies the Dutch manufacturer of (telescopic) wheel loaders, telehandlers and skid steer loaders will showcase two wheel loaders (D332SWT X-TRA and V452T X-TRA HD) and a skid steer loader (SK251D) at stand 5610. The machines are well known for their compact design, high performance and low operating costs. Extra beneficial is the easy way of operating the machines. A short instruction is more than enough to get to work.

Significant higher tipping load with X-TRA models
Compared to a standard model an X-TRA model has a lower front frame and thus a lower centre of gravity of the load in comparison with the machine. This results in a significantly higher tipping load varying between 460 and 1.600 kg of extra weight, depending on the chosen model. Because of the lower front frame the operator has an excellent view on his work and this allows safe and precise operation. Making the machines suitable for (road) construction, landscaping and demolition purposes.

First model is the GIANT D332SWT X-TRA with a service weight of 1.550 kg and 33 horsepower engine. The machine has a differential lock, so there is minimal friction with the surface.  Second model is the V452T X-TRA HD. HD stand for  “Heavy Duty” which means that the wheel loader is equipped with 12-tonnes axles and a bigger gear pump, providing a driving speed of 28 km/h and increased pulling force. With a tipping load of 2.700 kg the V452T X-TRA HD can handle every job.

Giant skid steer loader
Skid steer loaders are the smallest machines from the range of GIANT machinery. These machines are developed to take over manual labour. Physical stress will be minimized and activities will be done in a responsible way. Because of their short wheelbase and low weight (starting from 750 kg) these machines can even do their work in tight spaces. On display there will be a 25 hp diesel version, equipped with a compact sweeper. GIANT skid steer loaders are driven by 4 powerful hydraulic wheel motors which provide a high thrust and pulling force.

You can find GIANT-TOBROCO during the International Rental Exhibition at stand 5610.

GIANT machines and attachments for the equine industry

TOBROCO-GIANT has a wide range of machines and attachments that are perfect to use for the horse industry. The compact design of the machines, versatility and a specific range of attachments make a lot of activities in the equine industry easier and less time consuming.

Compact design, big in performance
GIANT machines designed to operate in tight spaces and on rough terrain. Those benefits come in handy when you are working in stables. Depending on the tyres, the machines vary in width between 78 en 210 centimetres. The height starts at 2 meters for a machine with safety roof and 2,2 meters for a machine with a cabin. By selecting a foldable safety roof the height of a machine will decrease with 34 centimetres!

Despite the compact sizes and low service weight, these machine are capable to deliver a high pulling force and tipping load. A good example is the smallest wheel loader available. This machine has a service weight of 1.100 kg, but it has a tipping load of 1.000 kg. So the machine can almost lift its own weight. When there is nog enough space for a wheel loader, a skid steer loader is the ideal solution. These little giants have a very short wheelbase (74 cm) and low service weight (starting from 750 kg). With a tipping load of 230 kg, the skid steer loaders will take over hard labour.

If a machine with more lifting power is required then the V452T wheel loader is the perfect machine for the job. With its four-cylinder engine (45 hp),  automatic gear and heavy planetary final drive, the V452T is considered to be a comfortable loader. Due to a high oil flow to the working hydraulics the machine is capable to work with heavy attachments that need a high output.

Specific attachments
It’s not only the machine that is of great importance but also the attachments. GIANT has  a specific range of attachments for the equine industry. Besides the standard attachments like manure forks, bale clamps and pallet forks there are various special attachments available. For example a vacuum unit to collect horse manure, levellers to prepare the riding area’s or a manure container. Because of continuous developments this range will expand even further.

Leading role in a video
The machines that are mentioned above have a leading role is a video that has been recorded at Academy Bartels, a well-known training facility led by the Bartels family. They have participated in 6 Olympic Games and have won 3 Olympic medals. The video shows that GIANT machines are more than capable to perform a wide variety of tasks in the horse industry.

TOBROCO-GIANT shows versatility during EuroTier

From 15 till 18 November  TOBROCO-GIANT is present at EuroTier in Hannover, Germany. During the world’s leading trade fair for animal production TOBROCO-GIANT will show how versatile GIANT machines are for this industry. It doesn’t matter if your work is feeding cattle, cleaning out stables, mowing grasslands or property maintenance. With the right attachment one GIANT can perform all these tasks. On stand 26F25 there will be a range of machines and attachments that are perfect to use in animal production.

Compact design BIG in performance
Skid steer loaders are the smallest machines from the range of GIANT machinery. These machines are developed to take over manual labour. Physical stress will be minimized and activities will be done in a responsible way. Because of their short wheelbase and low weight (starting from 750 kg) these machines can even do their work in tight spaces. On display there will be a 25 hp diesel version, equipped with a compact sweeper. GIANT skid steer loaders are driven by 4 powerful hydraulic wheel motors which provide a high thrust and pulling force.

Wheel loaders till 5,6 ton
TOBROCO-GIANT provides one of the broadest product portfolios in the world of (telescopic) wheel loaders.  At the moment the product range of GIANT wheel loaders consists of 23 different models. The range starts with the D204SW (1100 kg) and runs up till the V761T (5600 kg). During EuroTier there will be four different wheel loaders, including the new V5003 HD.

The D332SWT will be the smallest loader on the stand, with a service weight of 1500 kg, 33 hp diesel engine and tipping load of more than 1000 kg. The D337T is clearly one size larger. Despite the same engine, it’s weight is 2100 kg and tipping load is 1450 kg. With its four-cylinder engine (45 hp),  automatic gear and heavy planetary final drive, the V452T is considered to be a comfortable loader. Due to a high oil flow to the working hydraulics the machine is capable to work with heavy attachments that need a high output.

The V5003 HD wheel loader is a “Heavy Duty” version of the standard V5003 and has a service weight of 3.400 kg and lifting height of 3.2 meter. HD means that the machine has a higher pulling force. And this results in a higher driving speed with a maximum of 28 km/h. The standard of the V5003 HD is equipped with a lifting arm with Z-kinematics and this make the machine extremely versatile.

Working at height
For activities where lifting height is important, TOBROCO-GIANT provides a solution with seven telescopic wheel loaders and two telehandlers. On the stand there will be the smallest and largest telescopic loader of the range on display. The D254SW TELE is the smallest and most compact machine with a service weight of 1100 kg, width of only 92 centimetres and lifting height of more than 2,8 meters. The largest model is the V761T TELE. The machine weighs 5900 kg, is powered by a  76 hp Deutz diesel engine and has a lifting height of 5.1 meters. One of the most practical and versatile features is its intelligent power management system. This system provides endless possibilities because the machine can be fully programmed for each attachment (oil flow, pressure, driving mode, etc.).

The telehandlers of TOBROCO-GIANT are one of the most compact and versatile machines in their class. Both machines are designed to manoeuvre in tight spaces and on rough terrain. As standard model, the TENDO is equipped with a proportional load moment protection – combining safety with optimum performance. During EuroTier TOBROCO-GIANT displays the 4548 TENDO HD. This machine is equipped with a 45 hp diesel engine, has a service weight of 2950 kg and lifting height 4,8 meters!

Our experts can provide detailed information about GIANT machines, their performance and the full range of options and attachments that we have available. We hope to welcome you at stand 26F25!

New V5003 models

GIANT introduces three new V5003 models to anticipate on the revised emission regulations. Because of these regulations the V5003T and 6004T models, with 60 hp diesel engines won’t be available any time soon. That is why GIANT has expanded the V5003 range with three new models. The V5003 HD (successor of V6004T), V5003 X-TRA HD (successor of V6004T X-TRA) and V5003 TELE HD (successor of V6004T TELE) all have a 50 hp diesel engine from Kubota and they are equipped with 14 tonnes planetary axles with electric differential lock.

Especially for customers that have a demand for a high productivity, GIANT has introduced the V5003 X-TRA HD. This machine is characterized by a so-called P-kinematics. This means  a lower front frame and thus a lower centre of gravity of the load in comparison with the machine, resulting in a significantly higher tipping load (3.800 kg). An additional advantage is the excellent visibility of the operator on his/her work, which improves safety of the working conditions as well. The X-TRA HD machines are often used for road construction and earth moving.

With the V5003 TELE HD, GIANT introduces the first “Heavy Duty” version of a telescopic wheel loader. The compact sizes and low service weight (3.850 kg) makes this machine the perfect telescopic loader. Despite its compactness the V5003 TELE HD can drive with a maximum speed of 28 km/h and lift till a height of 4.3 meters!

All V5003 models are already equipped with  various standard options. The ROPS / FOPS safety roof, including safety doors,  in combination with a luxury sprung seat ensures a safe and comfortable working environment for the operator.  Besides the standard options GIANT has a full range of options and attachments available to make the machines perfect to use for many applications.

It was an extension of the existing product range of (telescopic) wheel loaders and telehandlers. Since its introduction, there has been a huge demand for skid steers. Those who still want to order a skidsteer which will be delivered before the end of this year, should be fast…

Because of the market demand was known that there is a large market for this machine in the agricultural sector. To everyone’s surprise the skidsteer is sold in several other sectors, such as construction, landscaping and for private use. Due to its low weight (750 kg) and compact size, it can easily be transported on a trailer.

Currently, GIANT has 3 models of skidsteers in the program. The GIANT SK 211 G is powered by a gasoline engine ( 21 hp) and the other two models have a Kubota diesel engine (20 and 25 hp). The wheels are driven by four powerful wheel engines. In addition, the skidsteer offers a lot of hydraulic possibilities to drive the various attachments.

Automatic greasing system

GIANT offers for several models an automatic greasing system. The compact system has a unique cartridge for easy refill and offers an accurate, viscosity-independent grease supply over a wide temperature range. The pump is easy to program with integrated touch pads and LCD display.

The 1.7 litre cartridge, however, offers the right grease volume to meet the lubrication needs and larger service intervals of your GIANT. The system is available with a strong 12 or 24 Volt electric motor and features an 8 mm (0.32 inch) pump element as a standard, providing 0,26 cm3 (0.16 in3] of grease per cycle.

The easy to program timer with integrated LCD display with intuitive touch pads makes programming of the system extremely easy. Lubrication intervals can be set from 1 to 300 minutes, while the grease volume is defined by the number of revolutions of the pump rather than by a pre-set timing. As a result, the automatic greasing system supplies exactly the right grease quantity over a wide temperature range, independent of the viscosity of the grease. The number of pump revolutions can be programmed from 1 to 99 revolutions per grease cycle, which together with the forced stroke of the pumping elements result in an incomparable accuracy.

The automatic greasing system is available for the following models:

  • V452T
  • V452T X-TRA
  • V452T HD
  • V452T X-TRA HD
  • V501
  • V761T
  • V501 TELE

The brush has a diameter of 800 mm and is made of braided steel covered in a plastic lining. Because of the stiff bristles and high rotational speed, the weeds will be swept away. The brush is powered exclusively by hydraulics.

Besides the hydraulic function for rotating the brush, there is a second hydraulic connection on the lifting arm necessary for angling of the entire arm. This makes the brush has a reach of 2,2 meters. As standard, the weed brush is equipped with a mudguard.

Optionally, a hydraulic tilting of the brush is also possible. Because of a 6/2 valve, which will be mounted on the weed brush, a 12 Volt socket on the lifting arm is required (so an extra hydraulic function is not necessary).

The mowing season is coming!

Temperatures rise and the frost disappears. That means that the mowing season is coming again! GIANT has now temporarily both the flail mower and the flail mower with collector on stock.

The mowing season is coming!

Temperatures rise and the frost disappears. That means that the mowing season is coming again! GIANT has now temporarily both the flail mower and the flail mower with collector on stock.

Flail mower

The flail mower offers the driver a very good view on his work. The mower is available in three different working widths and can be used both for mowing lawns tight as rough terrain. For optimal performance are different flails available for the mower. Additionally, you can mount loose verticutting blades between your flails. These blades hit the moss from your lawn and make a slit between the grass. This allows the lawn to breathe. As standard, the mower is equipped with the so-called “Y” flail blades.

The mower is powered by a hydraulic motor. This is connected to the double acting hydraulic valve on the lifting arm. The hydraulic motor requires an oil input of 35 to 40 liters per minute. This makes the mower suitable for all GIANT models. A leakage oil connection is not required, but recommended. The pressureless return ensures that the hydraulic oil doesn’t have to go back through the valve to the oil reservoir, so the heating of the oil is limited. For intensive long-term use, we recommend a double gear pump on your GIANT.

Flail mower with collector

The flail mower with collector offers besides the functionalities of the flail mower, that grass rests, leaves, branches and/or manure is sucked into the collector. This will keep your lawn or meadow clean and fresh. Also for the flail mower with collector are several blades available.

The flail mower with collector is available in cutting widths of 1,20 meters (700 liters collector) and 1,60 meters (900 liters collector). On the attachment is a heavy hydraulic motor mounted, that drives flail shaft hydraulically. The high rpm of the shaft creates a suction effect, making the grass, leaf debris and even manure is sucked into the collector. The high speed also creates a tightly mown lawn. In the frame are two slotted holes allowing the flail mower has freedom of moving, in comparison to the base frame. A chain between the frame and the wheel loader enables the lifting of the mower. The collector can be discharged by a second double-acting hydraulic function in front of your wheel loader. In addition, a leak-oil connection is required. Optionally there is a tine bar in front of the mowing unit, enabling the flail mower to function as paddock cleaner as well.

Cutter arm with mulching unit

GIANT offers a cutter arm which is suitable as a front attachment. Unlike when the device is installed behind a tractor or loader, the driver has a good view on his work. The modern cutter arm is perfect for mowing roadsides and ditch borders and pruning hedges and various planting beds.

The cutter arm has a reach of 3,4 meters and has a hydraulic obstacle protection. This protects the arm and the mower from damages. In addition, the cutter arms have a parallel arm geometry. This relieves the driver, because the position of the tool doesn’t has to be corrected when changing the scoop. A mulching unit is mounted on the arm with two hydraulically driven, rotating blades. The mower has a working width of 1,25 meters.

For optimal functioning of the mower, your GIANT has to possess a minimum oil output of 46 L/min (210 bar). In addition, a double gear pump, stabilo system and pro-inching are required. The patented stabilo system ensures high stability of the machine. With the pro-inching function, the mower operates on a fixed rpm and you can control your driving speed with the foot pedal. A leak oil connection and 12 Volt connection on the lifting arm are also required.

The control of the arm and mower will take place in the cabin, through more-lever cable control or single-lever electro-proportional control. With the more-lever principle, you can operate four levers each with a cable connected to cutter arm. You can also choose for single-lever control. For this option you control an electro-proportional joystick, and you can turn the mower on and off. After using the mower you can disconnect the mower with the hydraulic quick change, so the wheel loader can also be used for other activities.

New rotary mowers

GIANT has switched to better quality rotary mowers. The new mowers are light, compact and are ideal for maintaining your lawns and meadows. The high quality blades ensure a perfectly mowed lawn. The mowers are available in three different widths: 120 cm, 150 cm and 180 cm.

The rotary mower is powered by a hydraulic motor, which is mounted on top of the mower. This motor is can process a maximum of 33 L/min. This makes the mower is currently only suitable for the GIANT D204SW till the GIANT D332SWT (X-TRA). Soon there will be new rotary mowers available for the other models. The two circulating blades are driven by two separated belt transmissions. On both transmissions is a tensioner to adjust the belt for correct tension. The height of the cutting unit is determined by 4 rotatable rubber wheels. On each wheel is a spacer mounted, which the height can be adjusted.

It is also possible to equip the rotary mower with a mulching kit. The mulching kit finely chopped the cut grass and spreads it over the lawn. So the natural cycle is complete. You save time and your garden is in full of health.

D332SWT (X-TRA) now also in Heavy Duty version

The D332SWT and the D332SWT X-TRA from GIANT are now available as Heavy Duty versions. These machines are equipped with a heavier hydraulic pump.

D332SWT (X-TRA) now also in Heavy Duty version

The D332SWT and the D332SWT X-TRA from GIANT are now available as Heavy Duty versions. These machines are equipped with a heavier hydraulic pump. This is offered as an option.

The big advantage of this HD-option is the increase of power for the driving hydraulics, which increases from 360 bar to 450 bar. This results in an even more powerful transmission. The big difference between the D332SWT and the D332SWT X-TRA is the front boom. The front-frame of the X-TRA is lowered, drastically increasing its lifting capacity. The tipping load of the D332SWT is 1060* kg and that of the D332SWT X-TRA is 1500kg* (nearly its own weight!)

*2330 lbs. - 3300lbs.
